Episode 6: Let's Get WOKE Amigas!

Wow, amigas this episode is jam packed with some amazing tips about empowering our community about understanding our culture capital, and about changing the way we see our value and our hustle. You can't learn the hustles and resilience of our neighborhoods and in our stories from books and therefore we should not be afraid to share them. In this episode our incredible amiga, Stephanie Castellanos, provides incredible insights on how to navigate this space, job market, your community work, volunteer experience, landing your dream job and moving towards your purpose. She is an organizer, national recruiter, community-builder, and an Equity & Inclusion Strategist. Her commitment to racial equity stems from her experiences navigating higher education and professional spaces as the first in her family to graduate from high school & college (go Bruins!), as a daughter of Mexican immigrants, and as a product of Inglewood, California. Whether she leading one of her WOKESHOP trainings to students and families of color, mobilizing to increase the representation of Latinas in office, or recruiting and selecting top talent to transform the child welfare system, Stephanie’s lifework continues to be centered in creating room, access and opportunities for historically exploited people -- one table at a time.
