Best Behaviour - John Pollaers OAM: A Purpose-Driven Career
play

01/16/24 • 78 min

Note:
This episode was recorded in early 2023. While we always record for 90 minutes, we didn't want to edit this down to fit our normal format so kept it for our summer series.
Please enjoy this full-length conversation with John Pollaers

In this episode, we explore the remarkable career of John Pollaers OAM, a figure synonymous with leadership in both the corporate and academic sectors. After beginning his working life in the Navy, John's first corporate foray was with Diageo, rising through the ranks to become President Asia Pacific. He further cemented his leadership prowess as CEO of major companies like Pacific Brands and Foster’s Group Limited. Acknowledged for his contributions to the manufacturing sector, education, and business with the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2018, John's influence extends to his role as Chancellor of Swinburne University of Technology since February 2019, where he champions innovation and excellence in higher education.
In 2022 John was made Non Executive Director for AGL - Gabe and Chris took the opportunity in early 2023 to sit down with John to talk about his life and career, digging in to what it means to be lead by an unwavering purpose.
