Here's the second part of the BBR interview with adventurer Alfie Pierce-Higgins talking about his challenges in China and around the world.

If you've not listened to the first part, we suggest going back now and giving that a listen first.

Listen to this episode and you'll discover:

  • How Alfie prepped to run the Ultra Trail of the Gobi in China
  • How the Chinese ultrarunning scene is just a bit different from what we're used to
  • How Alfie became a celebrity in China after his Gobi challenge finish (and how you can, too)
  • Exactly how Alfie prepared for such an awesome challenge
  • How Alfie managed to get the Jordanian government to sponsor his run across Jordan
  • Why he loves running without the racing

You don't have to worry about the Silk Cut on this episode, we go straight into talking with Alfie.

In this BBR Interview, Jody and David speak with ultramarathon running legend and multiple Western States winner, Jim Walmsley about his career, his previous endeavours and how he is focused on winning UTMB with his move to France.
This was an eye-opening and sometimes emotional interview with Jim and well worth the watch.
Here's what was covered.
- Jim discusses the challenges of travel due to Brexit, his experiences and struggles in ultra running and marathon, and his strategy for UTMB
- He shares his past as a soccer player, the collegiate running system in the US, and the different challenges faced by road runners and trail runners.
- Jim talks about his experiences with failure in big races, his approach to training, and the shift in his motivations from high school to professional running.
- He also mentions his race schedule, including the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB), and his decision to move to France for a training block in the Alps
- He shares his thoughts on the importance of mental and physical resilience, the impact of winter training, and his preference for strength-focused training

We just can't stop getting Camille Herron back on the podcast... we love her so much.

Ahead of her appearance at the BBR Ultrazone at the National Running Show this month, David catches up with Camille to discuss her recent move to Colorado to take her training up a notch, her latest races and challenges and the role of brands and sponsors in ultrarunning.

That's not all!

Allie co-hosts with David this week and takes the chance to talk about the Namibian Race To The Wreck and they discuss parkrun's decision to close down Facebook groups as well as the National Running Show coming up soon.

(Did we mention the National Running Show, btw?!)

Enjoy!

So Bad Boy Running has officially gone to the Dark Side. We've invited the greatest champion of Ironman for a chat.... and we LOVED IT!

In this episode, Jody and David speak with four-time Ironman World Champion Chrissie Wellington and... well... it's pretty obvious how the guys were a *little* bit in love with Chrissie once they got off the call. :)

Even if you've heard Chrissie before, this episode is a real eye-opener as she talks in depth about the period before becoming a professional triathlete, her passion for international development and what it feels like (good and bad) to be part of a triathlon training team. Seriously, this is one great listen.

Chrissie even has a few words of advice to help Jody in his Ironman challenge...

Enjoy!

This episode is INSANE!

In what we reckon is a world first (Bad Boy Guarantee), Jody and David speak to triple stroller marathon world record holder Cynthia Arnold.

Cynthia pushed her three children in a stroller (pushchair if you're British) around a whole marathon in an insanely fast time, smashing the previous world record.

It raised a lot of questions from the Do-Badders... and Cynthia answers them all.

This is an amazing episode you're going to love.

Enjoy!

If you’re going to run crazy distances, what better way than to run them in style... and for Coree Aussem-Woltering, that means Speedos.

After being on the dark side for a while in the world of triathlon, Coree found him home running ultras after pacing a friend and never looked back.

Now a North Face athlete, he has clocked up wins and podium finishes galore but also champions the Mid West - a place traditionally looked down upon by the ultrarunning community which prefers their distances more elevation-focused.

David and Jody speak to Coree to discover more.

Enjoy!

Ben Greenfield has become one of the leading voices in the movement to reach the peak performance in body and brain.

A former bodybuilder and Spartan athlete, Ben is now an established expert and coach with a huge global audience of followers who look to his in-depth advice for guidance. So kind of like the opposite of BBR.

He's also author of the New York Times bestselling book, “Beyond Training: Mastering Endurance, Health and Life”.

Oh, and of course he has his own podcast Ben Greenfield Fitness, again which is the antithesis of everything BBR - professional, organised and knowledgeable.

In this episode, David grills Ben across a range of subjects and gets answers on how to improve the range of human performance both physically and mentally.

Enjoy!
