How To Build Confidence
How do you build confidence when you are not performing the way you want to and it brings you down?
It is tough isn't it?
And it's all well and good for someone to say "you've got this" or "you can do this" but in the next breath you could say "have I really got this? I am not so sure!"
When the confidence is not there, it means there is doubt inside of you, which really means your belief level is not yet at 100%.
BELIEF = CONFIDENCE
NOT CONFIDENT = NO BELIEF / LACK OF BELIEF
The question then becomes how do you raise your belief level when it is lacking?
It is the language that you use. We need to change the way in which you speak to yourself. We need to change the language, your self talk.
Here are 4 Steps to build your confidence;
STEP 1 - Awareness
Write down in your journal, notebook or diary any negative thoughts that pops into your head or any doubt around your sport.
STEP 2 - Re-Write The Language
Those negative thoughts and doubts that you recorded now re-write the language in a positive form.
STEP 3 - Positive Phrases
Write out a list of positive phrases you can say to yourself.
STEP 4 - Read it Out Every Day
Read out that new positive language and positive phrases on a daily basis.
