All the Things with Jess Patz - Finding love after an abusive, toxic, unhealthy relationship

Finding love after an abusive, toxic, unhealthy relationship

03/30/23 • 34 min

All the Things with Jess Patz

I know its totally cringe and annoying to say, but I get this question a lot! "Jess, how did you find real love after your abusive marriage? Do you have any advice"? Ok, I am not love expert but I do have advice that I feel can absolutely help guide you to finding real, genuine, love again and not repeat that cycle of abuse. Spoiler alert... you have to do some work... annnnd it will most likely take more time than you want it to. Im a firm believer that love is out there for anyone who really wants it. Call me a hopeless romantic or delusional I don't care, you're not changing my mind. I believe it because I've experienced it first hand.
Did I make mistakes along the way? Yes. Did I have to kiss a few frogs to find my "prince charming"? Sure did. If you want love, you CAN and will find it. Just give yourself some grace along the way.

Choosing to turn a setback into an epic COMEBACK with Mckenna Reitz!

Episode 10 brings my first guest who isn't biologically obligated to love me. My friend, McKenna Reitz is not only an inspiring Alopecia Warrior, but a TedX speaker, an AP Psych teacher, and just all around powerhouse of a human being! McKenna and I talk about what the early days of her hair loss journey were like and how far she has come since that original diagnosis. She shares that a turning point for her regarding her outlook was actually a quote from none other than the character Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, "The problem is not the problem itself. The problem is your attitude about the problem."
Whether you have ever personally experienced Alopecia or hair loss yourself, the lessons Mckenna shares will resonate with anyone who is or has overcome lifes lowest moments. Don't forget to connect with her on social media, check out her website, and get tickets to her Challenge Yourself: Coach + Leadership Summit coming up in May.
