A Sober Story Podcast

Chuck describes himself as the poster boy of high functioning alcoholism. He used drugs and alcohol to get himself through his day to day routine. It wasn't until Chuck was faced with the prospect of a stint in jail after failing his interlock breathalyzer for the second time that he recognized he wasn't going to be able to cheat his way through the system. Chuck now fills a leadership role within a local AA meeting where he mentors individuals mandated to attend meetings. Chuck enjoys a glass of wine here and there with his wife. He has been clean from drugs for 12 years. Way to go, Chuck! Listen to his story now!

What if Gray Area Drinking Was Keeping You from Being a Good Grandparent? Suzanne's Story

No one in Suzanne's life told her she should stop drinking or that she had a problem with alcohol. But why could she not stop herself from drinking two glasses of wine each night (and not to mention more on the weekends)? Suzanne decided she should probably go to AA, because, at the time, where else did you go if you thought you had a problem with alcohol? Once there, though, she realized it was not a good fit. So, was she an alcoholic, or was she not? She didn't fit into the AA scene, but she wasn't comfortable with her drinking habits. It wasn't until Suzanne started reading Quit Lit and listening to sober podcasts that she realized... Omg, I'm a GRAY AREA DRINKER! There WAS a name for drinkers like her! Through education and working diligently to "rewire" her thinking, Suzanne has been sober for close to a year and a half. Way to GO, Suzanne! I promise you will feel uplifted and connected to Suzanne's sobriety journey. Listen now!
