Jess Wilkins is a friend of the podcast. She's also a friend of your host that's been keeping her company from afar during a global pandemic. Never more than a "hey friend" text away, Jess joins the podcast as its first-ever recurring guest to discuss topics that have been coming up for us during this socially distant time. We dive deep into quarantine beauty, self care, street harassment, and underpants. There's a lot happening, get in here.
Post-recording update from Jess re: Static Nails: "Nail review: Press on nails are great for now but they will never be as perfect a fit as professionally done acrylics. There are nail sites that allow you to measure your nail bed and get more of a custom fit, but as kind of a lazy bitch who is in quarantine, I shan't be doing all that mess. With that being said, Static Nails are perfectly fine if you like a more subdued nail design and length. Tres She nails were a better fit, again not perfect, but better and they have more fun tacky bitch long nails which I enjoy. So as a matter of tacky preference, I'm rocking with Tres She."

Aabye-Gayle D. Francis-Favilla is a freelance writer and editor joining the podcast this week to discuss being child-free by choice as a married woman. In this episode, that's basically akin to listeners observing two women becoming friends over Zoom, we cover a lot of ground and debunk a lot of old societal beliefs, and those who are child-free by choice as well as those who would like to become parents will hopefully find this a thoughtful and inviting discussion. Best enjoyed with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and followed immediately by a phone call to your best friend.

The Corporate Takeover Of Dating
A Single Serving Podcast
05/31/21 • 70 min
Nancy Jo Sales is a New York Times bestselling author and award winning journalist whose work you might know from The Bling Ring, American Girls: Social Media and the Secret Lives of Teenagers, or her documentary filme Swiped. Her newest book, Nothing Personal: My Secret Life in the Dating App Inferno addresses a topic very close to this community: Big Dating and the corporate takeover of our search for love. It’s not just you—maybe the gamification of dating is actually that bad. This episode hits home, hard.
CW: This podcast episode includes a brief discussion of rape and sexual assault at the very beginning of the interview.

The Vilification Of Single Women - Happy Holidays From Shani Silver
A Single Serving Podcast
12/06/22 • 51 min
A Single Serving Podcast publishes ONLY on Patreon every Monday morning, but once a year I like to gift subscribers who have found me throughout the year with one Patreon-only episode as a way to show you what you can expect from the podcast. I hope you enjoy one of my absolute favorite 2022 episodes, The Vilification Of Single Women. This episode does not hold back, it does not mince words, and it is DONE with the BS narrative that single women are a threat to married women's relationships. NOPE! We are done being vilified, and we are done moving through the world on eggshells so that we don't upset a married. It's an intense one and you know what—it should be. Because single people are not villains, and partnered people are not superior. Period.

Twice a year I like to give this audience a peek behind the Patreon curtain. This episode is a preview of an hour-long solo episode that was very popular among my Patreon listeners, and it's one of my personal favorites as well. If you are single and struggling to find dignity in it, both within yourself and within a couple-centric society, I hope you enjoy, and I hope you'll consider joining us on Patreon, where your $5/month membership gives you access to new episodes EVERY MONDAY, as well as access to the private, Patrons-only Facebook group for this podcast. You will also have access to the full, four-year archive of Patreon episodes, as a reminder this podcast stopped publishing to free-access platforms in January of 2021, but I haven't slowed down a bit. ;)

Shani Silver, Monica Dimperio, and Kate Jacobsen are in a dinner group called FoodHeaux. They meet once a month, and each month is someone's turn to pick the destination. The group began out of a love of food, and a need for community, and in this episode your host will interview her dinner group to share how it has impacted their lives and brought them joy. And really, really good dinners.

Don't F*ck Up
A Single Serving Podcast
06/28/21 • 71 min
In this very special episode of A Single Serving Podcast, I am joined by podcast listener Christine Po, a Dermatology Physician Assistant based in Atlanta, Georgia. Christine reached out as a listener and her email was one I wished I could have shared with you all—so I made it a podcast episode instead. This is for anyone who has ever felt entirely alone in never having been in a relationship before, anyone who's ever experienced racism in dating, and anyone who has ever felt like there was just simply something wrong with you for being single. The episode also begins with my own deep dive and reframe into expectations around our least favorite question: "How's dating going?"
