Mini Series - Jake Butt - BTN Football Analyst, Michigan 2x All-American and Former NFL Tight End
12/10/24 • 34 min
Episode 4 - The Art of Something Mini-Series with the deep-thinking, curious brother of mine, Mr. Jake Butt. (@jakebutt)
I first got in touch with Jake while he was playing with the Denver Broncos. What was supposed to be a quick phone call turned into a deep-dive conversation about life, the universe, and the reasoning behind our existence. I remember the moment distinctly. As I hung up the phone, I felt invigorated. From that day on, our friendship has only grown as we have shared some of the most profound and fulfilling conversations I’ve experienced on my journey with him.
Jake has a funny way of enthralling the environment around him to feel inspired towards the potential of what they can be, what we all can be. I have been fortunate to experience this with Jake, as I’m sure you will feel similar during the conversation. After Jake’s playing days, I couldn’t help but admire his confidence in grabbing the reins and expanding into new avenues of thought and professionalism. He has since dove headfirst into the world of broadcasting and brought a level of intention that has profoundly impacted the game of football.
All athletes will someday transition out of their sport. It is not specific to Jake, but he showcased courage in changing with the times. His ability to identify with both attachment and detachment is admirable for us all.

Mini Series - Alyssa Nakken - First Female MLB Coach, Current Assistant Director of Player Development with the Cleveland Guardians
Episode 3 with Coach Nak!
Let's talk about perspective. I had a front-row seat to history over the last few years while watching Alyssa break through the walls of Major League Baseball as the first female coach in the big leagues. I would never have been able to describe what this experience must have been like from her lens, nor would I ever try. We built a friendship, worked well together, and shared a curiosity for life that instantly gravitated me to her. I constantly asked the coach how she saw the world through the years. I couldn't wrap my head around what a Major League clubhouse looked like from the perspective of being a female.
Alyssa is one of the brightest minds and the most intelligent and sound humans I've encountered. Her attributes are tremendous, but what stands out to me is her capacity to withstand adversity and change with such patience. I have never witnessed an individual holding such space daily where those around her could feel free to express themselves. Her courage in taking on a challenge inspires those around her, and from my vantage point, this leads to my immense gratitude for Coach Nak. Her strength in curiosity and resilience in compassion are incredible.
I look forward to the many more conversations I share with coach over the years, and hopefully, a few more get recorded, but dive in and listen to my good friend and I rap for a bit.

Mini Series - Alex Easby - Performance and Breathwork Coach Working with Impact Founders and CEOs
Episode 5 of the Mini-Series on The Art of Something is with my friend Alex Easby. I can't actually recall the moment I was introduced to Alex. I know it was a few years ago from a mutual friend I believe, but I can't give you the moment. To my memory, it was a classic situation where someone I knew wanted me to meet someone they knew. Either way, I ended up going on a podcast with him, and it was that incredible feeling where you felt at home communicating with a stranger. Alex has a soothing way of communicating about him and an openness that has always intrigued me. He is a master of his craft and shows tremendous care in his work. These traits were clearly evident to me when I first spoke to him and my admiration towards his pursuit has remained high ever since. When I had a window to interview a few people in the fall of 2023, Alex was the first to come to mind. I reached out to see his interest, and we immediately popped on for a podcast. As you will hear, he had been traveling and experiencing life. He shares wonderful stories and has such a unique way of articulating his perspective. It was an honor to record another show with Alex and I'm grateful we've sustained our friendship over the years. Enjoy my friends. One Love Harv
