In this week’s episode of The Pain Changer, I chat with Lauren Fonvielle, an Integrative Energy Practitioner, specializing in EFT/ Tapping for stress, anxiety, and trauma.

She guides her clients on a journey of self-healing to break through obstacles - physical, mental, or emotional - that are keeping them stuck and holding them back in life or business.

She believes we all have the answers within, and sometimes we just need a little help accessing them.

It was such a pleasure speaking with Lauren and hearing her own journey helping herself resolve and heal from chronic stress and anxiety. She brings in one of my favorite components that I love seeing in other practitioners: a true joy and passion for what she does. In my experience, that joy and passion can make all the difference. In this episode, you will learn:

  • What tapping, or EFT is, and how it can help
  • How much you can impact cortisol levels, a main component of stress, in just one EFT session
  • How it can offer relief from symptoms of trauma without going into the trauma itself
  • What my first EFT experience was like and what my body was trying to tell me at the time

If you loved this episode and you got a lot out of it, leave a review and share your biggest takeaway with me. And while you've got your phone out, make sure to follow me on Instagram @coachktdubs for more quick tips and tricks on how to change your experience with pain.Resources:

In this week’s episode of The Pain Changer®, I chat with Chad Bruckner. Chad is a motivational speaker, author and police life coach. Chad is a retired police detective from Pennsylvania and an Army combat veteran. Chad served for 21 years in government service.

I met Chad at a Wellness Conference in June for first responders that was held in Portland, ME. Chad spoke at the conference, and what he had to say was incredibly important, and very inspiring. He’s also one of the first men I’ve heard mention Brene Brown by name! That my friends, is a man worth listening to.

Chad just launched an incredible book that I have already purchased in his presale, called The Holy Trinity of Successful and Healthy Police Organizations. There is a link below to purchase your own copy.

Chad really understands what needs to change within the culture of law enforcement, so more officers can have a healthy mindset, avoid burnout and enjoy a life outside of work.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How the mind/body connection impacts law enforcement
  • What happens when officers are not getting the support they need or they work in a toxic culture
  • What Chad learned from his 20+ years of service and how he’s using those lessons to help other officers
  • What the Holy Trinity for Successful And Healthy Police Organizations is and why each piece is so important

The Catapult Effect - Katie’s Journey

Katie’s Journey

The Catapult Effect

Everything I mentioned today...that’s my journey with chronic pain.

There’s so much more to it too, so many more details and nuances both to the areas that helped relieve my pain, as well as areas that worsened my pain. What I hope you take away from this episode is this:

  • You don’t have to wait for your pain to go away before you start to feel alive again, or at all as was the case for me
  • Being able to look at your patterns and habits with curiosity and not judgment is key to being able to shift behavior
  • Your attitude and mindset play a massive role in what is possible for you

The Catapult Effect - Trauma Patterns…yep, I’m Including Covid-19

This week I combined a little of Episode 11, which was an introduction to trauma, with last week’s episode about patterns.

What differs, if anything, when a pattern is coming from a trauma? Most patterns link back to trauma, either directly or indirectly. In today’s episode you will learn:

  • A couple of the most common symptoms of trauma
  • Patterns that tend to come from those symptoms
  • The effect of Covid on all of us, especially the worker shortage
  • How you can change that pattern and experience relief

Resources:
Pinetree Institute - Building Trauma Response Communities
ACE's Test - Adverse Childhood Experiences
Resilience Test - Based on Positive Childhood Experiences (PCE's)
The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk, MD - Great resource to learn about the effect of trauma on the mind and body.

If you loved this episode and you got a lot out of it, leave a review and share your biggest takeaway with me. And while you've got your phone out, make sure to follow me on Instagram for more quick tips and tricks on how to change your experience with pain.

The Catapult Effect - The Carnivore Diet with Casey Ruff

In this episode of The Pain ChangerTM podcast, Casey Ruff joined me to talk about the carnivore diet. Casey has been a certified personal trainer since 2007. He successfully ran a metabolic testing program for a large gym and oversaw 13 programs in the west region.
He has multiple certifications as a personal trainer, lifestyle coach, and performance enhancement specialist. With his nutrition coaching certifications, he specializes in low-carbohydrate lifestyles, including ketogenic and carnivore diets. He has helped thousands of clients over fourteen years learn how to achieve their best lifestyle through movement, lifestyle management, and proper diet.
Together with Bethany, they created Boundless Body LLC during the 2020 pandemic. He is the host of two podcasts, Boundless Body Radio, and The How To Make a Podcast Podcast. He lives in South Jordan, Utah, with his wife Bethany, and their two dogs Rex and Tucker and their cat Lily. In his free time, he loves to cycle, play hockey, and paddleboard.
This diet was completely counterintuitive to me, and Casey clearly has the education to be able to teach you about this diet...so I had to know more! Casey makes it really easy to understand the science behind it, and he did a great job of answering the ethical questions that come up with a 100% animal based diet, as well as sharing experiences he’s seen with clients reporting fewer body aches on the carnivore diet. I’ve even started to follow this diet myself and I share my results on this show. The one result I totally forgot to share, because my focus was on health, not weight...was that I lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks!!!!!!In this episode, you will learn:

  • The science behind the carnivore diet and how your body adapts to the absence of plants
  • The reason cold cereal was invented - you will be shocked
  • How sustainable and ethical the carnivore diet can be
  • My own results and observations the first 2 weeks of the diet

Michael is a dedicated advocate for awareness, prevention, education, training on Post Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI) and First Responder Suicide Prevention.

Michael continues to speak at law enforcement agencies all over the United States. In his International #1 BEST-SELLING book, RELENTLESS COURAGE: Winning the Battle Against Frontline Trauma, along with Dr. Shauna Springer, PhD, they tackle the complexity of trauma within the law enforcement community, uncovering the unspoken barriers, and outline a path to healing. RELENTLESS COURAGE released in Spring 2022 and has been described by Lt. Col. David Grossman, best-selling author of On Killing and On Combat as “one of the most important books of our time” and “the natural successor to On Combat.”

I met Michael at a Wellness Conference for First Responders and I was very moved by what he shared with us. I then purchased his audible, Relentless Courage, and I was riveted! The book gives such great detail into his own experience, as well as a professional perspective to help the reader understand what was happening beneath the surface.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • The podcast interview that showed Michael the importance of sharing your story
  • Why Relentless Courage is such an important and powerful book
  • The importance of getting help and where to get help
  • You are NOT alone
  • PTSI doesn’t have to be permanent
