A guide to the history presented in the Bible, for people of all faiths and backgrounds, presented by an independent podcaster, and biblical studies buff. I explore the religion of ancient Israel, the beginnings of Christianity, then finally the evolution of the heirs of Abraham to the year 200. I discuss every single book in every Bible (there are more than you think!). Lightly garnished with a dash of drollery, a soupçon of scrutiny, and not one ounce of objectivity. Not one ounce! The main narrative concluded in January 2024. But I continue to publish Afterlife shows.

This podcast will redefine the way we see Jewish women—not as Jewish American Princesses, not as nags or klutzes, not as bossy or loud. As strong, as smart, as fearless. As Esthers, as Rachels, as Miriams. Every week, host Julia Jassey will be speaking to Jewish women who are breaking new ground and changing history.

An unashamedly Jewish comedy chat show where all are welcome!

Jew Talkin' To Me? is hosted by award winning comedians, Rachel Creeger and Philip Simon, and produced by Russell Balkind. Each show features two guests from the entertainment industry sharing their views on a variety of topics connected to modern Jewish life in a secular world, as well as their memories of growing up Jewish.

Both Philip and Rachel are well known as Jewish comedians on both the mainstream and community circuit and our guest list includes stand-up comedians, presenters, broadcasters, journalists and writers who are Jewish, have some Jewish heritage, or a Jewish connection.

Philip and Rachel have been collaborating for a few years, but who are we as individuals?

Philip Simon

WINNER of the Jewish Comedian of the Year 2015

WINNER of the Lastminute Comedy Comedian of the Year 2015

As a stand up Philip gigs throughout the UK, as well having performed as far flung places as America, Scandinavia, Europe, The Middle East and New Zealand. He is MC and curator of the Edinburgh Fringe's cult hit show Jew-O-Rama where Jewish and Jew”ish” acts perform to a mainly non-Jewish audience in packed out rooms each year. He is also resident compere at Borehamwood Comedy Club, works on panels shows including Mock the Week and Taskmaster and has been featured on BBC R2 and BBC 3CR, as well as acting in TV sitcoms such as My Family.

Rachel Creeger

WINNER Most Audience Recommended Show Camden Fringe 2012

WINNER Best Comedy Award Greater Manchester Fringe 2017

Rachel is the only practising orthodox Jewish woman on the UK comedy circuit and has attracted a big following outside of her community who are interested in a unique, accessible voice from an unlikely source. Her debut solo show ‘It’s No Job For A Nice Jewish Girl’ had a sell-out Edinburgh run in 2017, followed by tours of the UK and Israel. She's now meant to be touring her 5* show, ‘Hinayni! but, you know, the 'rona’. Rachel is the host of Central London's spectacular annual event Chanukah in the Square and resident MC of comedy club Upstairs at the Adam & Eve. As heard on BBC Radio London (regular guest) BBC R2, BBC Ouch and BBC 3CR. She is also an award winning director and critically acclaimed playwright.

Echoes of Eden is a comprehensive year-long study of the first five books of the Bible (the Torah or Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy). Dr. Chad Foster will make use of his background to explore these fundamental books of the Bible from a uniquely Hebraic centered perspective. Be prepared to understand these books and some of their familiar events in a brand new light. A major goal of the study will be to show how the stories in the Torah are not only one-time historical occurrences undergone by individuals a very long time ago. Rather, these historical stories are also archetypal in nature, representing various physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual realities within each and every person in each and every generation.

Antisemitism has deep roots in American history. Yet in the United States, we often talk about it as if it were something new. We’re shocked when events happen like the Tree of Life Shootings in Pittsburgh or the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville, but also surprised. We ask, “Where did this come from?” as if it came out of nowhere. But antisemitism in the United States has a history. A long, complicated history. A history easy to overlook. Join us on Antisemitism, U.S.A., a limited podcast series hosted by Mark Oppenheimer, to learn just how deep those roots go.

What is a bad jew? What does it take to not be one? Is it anti-Semitic to say? Or is it just a phrase that Jews use to cruelly judge one another? Chaz Volk, a newly observant Jew, shares that the greatest way to embrace your identity is to question everything. And we mean EVERYTHING! Chaz questions the Torah, law, politics, standards, communities and even G-d itself in this confrontational and edgy show. About Chaz: Chaz Volk grew up in Thousand Oaks, California where he began Torah studies until he was Bar Mitzva'ed at Temple Etz Chaim. From a young age, he was very aware of his uniqueness and how he was the token-Jew outside of Jewish settings. In middle school, Chaz experienced his first taste of antisemitism which brought him closer to his identity, despite his adversaries' wishes. Later, he'd attend San Francisco State University, where he'd get deeply involved at SF Hillel as a volunteer and intern. SFSU's social climate and its perspective on Jews and Zionism became clear from an early point. He'd later become the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit known today as Volk v. CSU Board of Trustees. In this class action case, Chaz Volk and his representation won. Since then, Chaz has proudly immersed himself in his identity and partaken in communities across southern California. Most recently, Chaz's emotional awakening occurred on an organized trip to Israel. There he adopted new practices that he instilled in his lifestyle to this day. Today, he's a volunteer and frequent of Aish HaTorah's programming and plans to use this show to promote their programs, events, and resources along with valuable Jewish teachings.

Living the life of an Orthodox Jew in the 21st Century often necessitates a very significant income. Unfortunately, many are struggling to keep up.

The Problem Is Bigger Than We Realize

The cost of life for an Orthodox family with children can range from $150,000 to $350,000 or more, depending on city and schools of choice, lifestyle choices and number of children.

The median income in America is $68,000 per family.

This means that a family would potentially need to be in the top 5% of all income earners in the United States simply to get by!

The Solution

Solving this challenge begins with an open dialogue to create awareness and education and allowing for impactful feedback and interaction.

Kosher Money aims to be a pivotal piece in creating this much-needed conversation.

Eli Langer was the former CNBC Social Media Producer and is currently the CEO of Harvesting Media. Each week, Eli sits down with experts to discuss various topics.
