Mommying While Muslim is a one of a kind podcast where two American born and bred Muslim moms share their experiences to raise second generation kids. Having experienced both pre and post 9/11 America, they're acutely aware of the unique challenges their families face on top of the regular messes that all moms share. Mommying While Muslim is a space to take back their stories, and tell those no one will air on the news or portray fully or fairly in the media. Zaiba Hasan and Uzma Jafri are moms first, careerwomen second, and global citizens at heart. They meet taboo topics head on because they weren't allowed to do it growing up, not at home or at school and work. They aim to better their immediate households, communities, and their momsisterhood the world over by telling the truths sometimes people don't want to face or to hear. Not everyone has the privileges they have and they are eager to learn, more than they are to share their own experiences. Always looking to give back, they find women and families who need a mic because no one needs a voice; they just need an opportunity to speak. Besides tough social issues, they also tackle political ones because when laws affect their kids, they're coming for them as well as the ones who make them! There's no lane that doesn't get taken here. Along the way, they recruit momallies for Muslim Americans who have been inordinately targeted for the last 20 years. True moms know that ALL our children deserve to be safe, loved, and happy, and we bust every yellow brick on the Islamaphobic road to make sure they all are. If you like good trouble, this one's for you!

A medical doctor by professional training, Dr Zakir Naik is renowned as a dynamic international orator on Islam and Comparative Religion. He is the president of Islamic Research Foundation, Mumbai. Dr Zakir clarifies Islamic viewpoints and clears misconceptions about Islam, using the Quran, authentic Hadith and other religious Scriptures as a basis, in conjunction with reason, logic and scientific facts. He is popular for his critical analysis and convincing answers to challenging questions posed by audiences after his public talks. Naik says that his goal is to “concentrate on the educated Muslim youth who have become apologetic about their own religion and have started to feel the religion is outdated”.[54] He considers it a duty of every Muslim to remove perceived misconceptions about Islam and to counter what he views as the Western media’s anti-Islamic bias in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States.[82] Naik has said that “despite the strident anti-Islam campaign, 34,000 Americans have embraced Islam from September 2001 to July 2002”. According to Naik, Islam is a religion of reason and logic, and the Quran contains 1000 verses relating to science, which he says explains the number of Western converts.[83] Some of his articles are published in magazines such as Islamic Voice

Ustadh Tim Humble is a British revert, who has ijaza in the six famous books of hadeeth. He is also experienced in the field of Ruqyah, the Islamic method of healing with the Quran, specializing in treatment for black magic and evil eye. He accepted Islam at the age of 14 & is currently involved with a dawah organisation called IDC North East which is based in & around Newcastle. Tim Humble became interested in Islam during Religious Education classes in Primary School. After researching it further on the internet he accepted Islam at the age of 14. Thereafter he went through a period of 4-5 years where he struggled to implement and practice his new-found faith. The Muslim community in his hometown was unwelcoming and unhelpful to New Muslims. In his own words, “One of the biggest problems we have in the Ummah is that we are excellent at selling the religion; we’re great salesmen...What we’re really, really rubbish at is keeping them in Islam once they become Muslim.” A suggestion by a friend sparked the idea of studying in the Islamic University of Madinah. During his first Hajj pilgrimage he applied to and was accepted into the University. He graduated from the Faculty of Hadeeth Studies in 2011. Notably he memorized and is certified in the six canonical works of hadeeth. He is currently involved with a Da’wah organisation called ‘IDC North East’ which is based in & around Newcastle. The Ustadh is married with 3 kids & is the founder of Humble Foundation.

Ahmed Hoosen Deedat (July 1918 – 8 August 2005) was a South African writer and public speaker of Indian descent. He was best known as a Muslim missionary who held numerous inter-religious public debates with evangelical Christians, as well as video lectures, most of which centred on Islam, Christianity and the Bible. He also established the IPCI, an international Islamic missionary organisation, and wrote several booklets on Islam and Christianity which were widely distributed by the organisation. He was awarded the prestigious ‘King Faisal International Prize’ in 1986 for his 50 years of missionary work. One focus of his work was providing Muslims with theological tools for defending themselves against active proselytising by Christian missionaries. He used English to get his message across to Muslims and non-Muslims in the western world.

He was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina in a very conservative Christian home. In his early teens he became heavily involved in the church near his home and in Young Life, a non-denominational youth oriented organization with the intention of becoming involved in the ministry of teaching and preaching. He intended to enrol in Bob Jones University, a world-renowned Bible College in his hometown upon graduating high school, but in the summer of 1996 his life changed. Upon studying the bible from cover to cover and realizing many things were askew, and a lot of what he believed his entire life was not in line with what his research found, he left Christianity and went in search of the truth. After many twist and turns, ups and downs and after looking at the many world religions searching for the tangible proof of the right way of life he encountered a Muslim, and was given a Qur’an. After reading the Qur’an cover to cover he accepted Islam in the winter of 1998. Yusha (Joshua) Evans Currently works as a full-time lecturer and caller to Islam, as well as teaching workshops that have taken him all across the globe. He is the founder and co-founder of two Islamic television stations in North America as well has appeared on many Islamic stations throughout the world. He has studied under numerous teachers and scholars in the various sciences of Islam and is a Psychology major. He is currently studying under Shaykh Waleed Al-Menesse, one of the world’s foremost Scholars in the Qur’an and its various sciences. He also is a multiple discipline Black belt holder.

The Qur’an (Arabic: القرآن‎ , literally “the recitation”) is the religious text of Islam. Qur’an was repeatedly revealed from God to Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, is the Messenger of Allah verbally through the angel Jibrīl (Gabriel) over a period of approximately twenty-three years, beginning in 610CE, when he was 40, and concluding in 632CE (year of his death). The Quran was not revealed only to be read and memorized, but the bigger and greater reason is for it to be pondered upon (tadabbur), understood, appreciated, and then applied in life.

The author clarifies in this concise yet very beneficial work the virtues of knowledge and the people of knowledge as well as the traits and characteristics of those who Allah granted them knowledge and benefited them by way of that in order to strive to obtain these traits and likewise to identify them in others to know who is truly qualified to learn from.
In the end if this work the author mentions the traits of the one who obtains knowledge yet he is insincere and does not benefit from his knowledge. In order reprimand the likes of this person and so others may identify these individuals and not be tried by them.
Alhamdulillah this class was completed at Masjid At-Tawheed from sep 17, 2019 to june 28, 2020.

The Sufi Heart podcast with Omid Safi features teachings and stories about a sacred tradition of love, one that manifests outwardly as justice and inwardly as tenderness. Drawing primarily on the wisdom of the Islamic tradition as well as the legacies of the Civil Rights movements and other wisdom teachings, Omid invites you to a meditation on the transformative power of love and recalling the necessity of linking healing our own hearts with healing the world.

Omid Safi is director of Duke University’s Islamic Studies Center. He specializes in the study of Islamic mysticism and contemporary Islam and frequently writes on liberationist traditions of Dr. King, Malcolm X, and is committed to traditions that link together love and justice.

Omid is the past chair for the Study of Islam at the American Academy of Religion. He has written many books, including Progressive Muslims: On Justice, Gender, and Pluralism; Cambridge Companion to American Islam; Politics of Knowledge in Premodern Islam; and Memories of Muhammad.
