Finally, a podcast that studies, analyzes and celebrates women in TV. Thousands of comedies, variety shows and dramas have aired, yet the presence of strong women – both in front of and behind the camera - is an experience we need to understand better and embrace. With an eye to aligning the leadership lesson, time capsule observation or fascinating backstory of a show’s success or failure, my goal of Advanced TV Herstory is to connect the treasures of the past to the great potential of today’s TV and online platforms. Tomorrow’s success is rooted in understanding what has come before us. So gear up for a little sociology, economics, strategy, storytelling and fun.

The #HealMeToo Podcast went on “pause” with the shutdown, but for our third season, we’re excited to announce a special series and a new YouTube channel for #HealMeToo At-Home—with insights, art, and activism to meet the needs of now. Survivors and our communities are experiencing many forms of trauma in this time of confinement, illness, uprising, and economic stress—not to mention the urgency of November’s elections. So we’ve retooled the #HealMeToo platform to feature video as well as audio interviews, with ideas and tools that may help in the midst of crisis. You can watch each new episode and podcast extra our new YouTube channel at bit.ly/hm2youtube. Binge Season One to hear excerpts and conversations from the first-ever #HealMeToo Festival last spring, and don't miss the live events and deep conversations about ways to have healthier relationships in all aspects of our lives, in Season Two. Follow @healmetoofest on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to join the conversation, and sign up for our mailing list at www.healmetoopodcast.com to get alerts when episodes drop, hosted by Hope Singsen, the artist, activist, survivor, and Founding Artistic Director of the #HealMeToo Festival.

If you ever watch films or read film reviews, this Independent Podcast Awards twice nominated show is for you. Because what you get to see onscreen is directly impacted by what critics value and promote. Film critic Wendy Lloyd investigates how we talk about movies, who gets to do it and why it matters with fellow critics and social commentators. #MeToo, BLM and Times Up mean we're finally seeing improved diversity in film - from the stories being told to onscreen representation. But significant power imbalances remain - as highlighted each year during Awards season. So how might film criticism understand its own role in these inequalities and better serve ALL film fans? Because whilst historically marginalised voices are now coming through in criticism, significant inequalities remain - including who gets the top critic jobs and which stories - and therefore films - are valued most. Join me in this series of thought provoking and lively conversations, that builds on research on inequalities in criticism I carried out for my Masters degree.
