Podcaster Q&A

Tell us about yourself – what is your background?

Retired Marine Helicopter Mechanic, Mobile RV Mechanic, and avid outdoorsman. I have enjoyed fishing through the country but have found Surf Fishing to be my favorite and the one that I am the most successful at. Living in NW Florida, I have been fortunate to have access to some amazing fishing and learning from the professionals that are in this area on how to become better at targeting fish.

Why did you get into podcasting?

I had been a co-host on another podcast and when it ran its life expectancy, I found that there were not many podcasts that were solely dedicated to surf fishing. I decided to start my own but wanted to be sure to be different than the others, so I decided to make mine world wide if possible. It then all came together and I have been sharing stories from anglers, fishing guides, bait makers, lure makers, and many more. I am a firm believer that we learn from each other and can help each other

How did the idea for the show come about?

There were only a couple surf fishing podcasts and they seemed to be concentrated where the hosts lived. I wanted more knowledge so I started making my questions directly aimed at learning how to do this. Whether you're in Florida, New England, or Australia, I wanted you to have a leg up for when you went fishing somewhere.

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

A couple pieces of knowledge to help them catch more fish, learn about a product, hear the behind the scenes of their favorite YouTube angler, and most importantly to not feel like their time was wasted listening.

What's been the biggest challenge for you?

Convincing guests that their knowledge is important to share. The average person doesn't think that they have anything to give back, but once you get them talking on the microphone, they realize they do infect have a lot to get out there.

How can your listeners support your show?

Subscribe, share, and send in guest ideas that they'd like to hear from.

Any future plans that you'd like to share?

I hope to travel to some of these locations and fish with the guests on the show. I'd also love to try my hand at fishing in those areas with the knowledge that they have shared to see if I can make it happen.
