What is Zed 1 about?

It's a Rom Zom Com set in the recently Apocalyptic Cotswolds, and follows the story of an ordinary married couple struggling to cohabit with Zombies.

Why did you start this show?

We actually started Podcasting in 2009 with Gaming Podcast and we used to dabble with comedy/drama skits in that show Zed 1 was part inspired by a TV show called "Doomsday Preppers" in which these super prepped families had enough caches, bunkers, ammunition & food to outlast the rest of civilisation.... ...then we compared that to our own sad, cramped & poor existence and realised that ordinary people just wouldn't cope. So Zed 1 kinda went from there.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

We hope you laugh mainly....we poke fun at Zombie tropes, our own marital relationship and general struggles in what would be a genuinely scary reality.

Which episode should someone start with?

There is a loose story to follow, so Season 1 Episode 1 would be a grand place to start if you're new.

Which have been your favourite episodes so far?

The most challenge ones to create have been our favourites. Neither of us are actors, and sometimes we'll write scenes that are way above our pay grade - so when we pull those off, that's a great feeling. From a Comedy point of view, my own personal favourite has to be "Off Course" from Season 3. In that episode, we detour from braining Zombies to play some golf. It was a lot of fun to perform.

Which episode are you most proud of?

Probably the Children's Story from Season 1. We invited some kids (family and friends) to do some voices for a special family-friendly episode, and they absolutely knocked it out the park.

What is your vision for your show?

We just like making the show, and we've been bowled over by just how popular it is. We took a break from it recently, and the clamour we received asking us to come back was quite humbling. So we hope to continue what we do.

What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?

Oh goodness too many. I'm a massive fan of Indie Podcasts, and I've personally listened to over 1000 different shows and each have something special to contribute. Personal faves are Omega Star 7, 100 Things We Learned From Film, Hallmark of Greatness, Randall Parker Film Club, Cult Connections, Doom Generation, The Sleep Pod, Be There With Belson, F My Work Life, Madison On The Air, No Return, Chatsunami, Book of Constellations, Second Fiddles. How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

The tiresome butchering of the British language. Its not "Zee" its "ZED" 😁

Were Aaron & Katie, we've been together for 21 years and have 2 beautiful children. 3 if you include this Podcast. ...I've just been informed by Katie that we are NOT including this Podcast as a child.
