Your Next Favorite Band - Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise - Your Next Favorite Band
play

10/12/23 • 68 min

We are so excited to spend time with Kuf and Christine! Luckily, they'll help us get centered first with some "Intro Mantra" and set the vibe - one of love and positivity.
This duo is putting out some of the best music and most unique sounds around right now. And if you haven't heard the pairing of poetic lyrics and dope beats with soaring vocals and angelic harp then now is the time!
We also will hear how they met and joined forces, and also established the wonderful Higher Grounds Music organization to provide resources and advocate for mental and emotional health and positivity.
In addition to "Intro Mantra", we'll feature "PhiLOVEdelphia", "Be Free" from Musikfest, and we are blessed to share "High Vibrationz" post credits in advance of its release worldwide.

98...99...100!! We've been livestreaming and publishing podcasts for almost 2 years now, releasing content weekly for the majority of that time, and we are now at our 100th episode. Can't believe it! Thank you all so much for tuning in, downloading, and trusting us to introduce you to "your next favorite band".
To help us honor the century mark, we'll be joined first by George Wacker of Lehigh Valley with Love, who provided a platform for this idea to germinate, then by Blair Crimmins who was the very first guest I ever interviewed, and then by Carver Commodore, who were the band that made me feel validated throughout the process of inviting, prepping, interviewing and the various shenanigans that follow. We also may have another surprise or two up our sleeves as well for the broadcast.
We will be announcing our line-up for the No Planet B Jamboree, which is happening Sun 4/21 at 2pm ET in Bethlehem, PA, which includes Moustapha Noumbissi, CLOVER and Galen Deery & Mystik Fool. More info to follow!
We'll be having all the feels for sure. And we'd love to hear if there have been any bands we've introduced you to over these 100 episodes, and who you think we should make OUR next favorite band, and seek to bring on for episode 101+.
Thank you all once again...this has been quite the honor.

Your Next Favorite Band - A Day Without Love - Your Next Favorite Band
play

03/27/24 • 67 min

Brian Walker is on a mission to spread good vibes. He achieves this through many, many ways. Of course our focus today will be to feel those vibes through his music and his band A Day Without Love.
Take a moment to spend some time as we hear about his early inspirations, how his poetry got turned in to the first songs, and how one of them, inspired by the ugliness of domestic violence that he helped stop, became the band name and launched the mission to help others rise above their own struggles.
Brian will perform live, and we'll share additional tracks from his catalog that shows off his infectious folk punk sound.

Your Next Favorite Band - John Kim Faye - Your Next Favorite Band
play

04/06/25 • 87 min

We had the honor of being able to sit and "talk at the Diner" with Philly music legend - John Kim Faye! In addition to being an incredible songwriter and musician, John's wildly funny and an amazing storyteller.
With a career that spans 3-4 decades - including successful runs with The Caulfields, IKE, John Faye Power Trip, John & Brittany and now his solo efforts, most recently the album The Long Game, John Faye is a power-chord hit machine.
In addition to the music catalog, John recently released a memoir titled The Yin and the Yang of it All. The audiobook is particularly good and includes some powerful immersion audio to the text read by John himself.
Be sure to check out Asian American Pie 2, happening May 17th at Milkboy down in Philly, featuring Judah Kim, Kikashima, and a reunion of the band IKE in honor of their 20th anniversary.
Come join us at the diner table!

We were super in to The American Hotel System heading in to Musikfest 2023 as one of our "Must See" bands, and we loved them even more after seeing them perform. So we are thrilled to be able to bring them on the show.
From Grand Rapids, MI, this alt-rock band that transcends the ordinary and expected. Founded in 2017 by Jacob Betts (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Hailey Petty (Drums), Jake LaMotte (Bass), and later joined by C.T. McCallister (Guitar), the band embarked on a journey that transformed them into a significant musical presence through genre exploration.
Opening for Bon Jovi in 2022, their powerful sound has resonated with audiences and garnered attention from Relix Magazine, BuzzMusic, CLOUT, and LEVELUP. As two-time Music Prize finalists and Grand Champions of Music Prize 2022, they stand as a dynamic force, pushing the boundaries of contemporary rock.
