Aging Proactively from the Inside

Your Health Toolkit

We all know the saying that “beauty is only skin deep”, but with the U.S. cosmetics industry raking in close to a whopping $50 billion dollars last year, it’s safe to say that appearance still really matters to American consumers. It seems like for a lot of us, aging is still a concept that we’re trying to come to terms with. We all age, right, so why are we so anti?
Well, that’s what we are going to talk about today. Sure it’s great to look good, but it’s even better to feel good. How can we feed our bodies in a way that helps us turn back time, both in health and appearance? Is there a way to cut through some of the cosmetic clutter and get focused on anti-aging from the inside? Let’s meet our experts.
On the show today are Dr. Carissa Fioritto and Dr. Kate Zachau from our practice Collaborative Natural Health Partners in Connecticut. Dr. Fioritto is a Naturopathic Physician who received her degree at the National University of Health Sciences in Illinois. She focuses her practice on digestive disorders, hormonal health including chronic fatigue, dermatologic conditions, anti-aging, and stress management. Dr. Zachau is an Osteopathic Family Medicine Physician and received her degree from Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tennessee. Her passion for integrative medicine is most notable in the modalities of mind-body medicine, nutrition, and osteopathic manipulation.
We talk about a few resources, supplements, and tools in the show today and here are some links to find them:

Here on Your Health Toolkit, we often talk about how conventional and naturopathic medicine can play complementary roles in our overall health. We call this “collaborative medicine” and through the work that we do at Collaborative Natural Health Partners, we are able to give people the knowledge and the tools they need to feel great every single day. If you’re interested in learning more, head over to our website or follow us on Facebook or Instagram for information, articles, and resources to take the guesswork out of your health.
Your Health Toolkit is a podcast presented for general information and educational purposes only. The discussions presented by Dr. Lauren Young and the show’s guests should not be considered medical advice but rather a conversation starter with your doctor. Everyone’s body is unique, and we recommend having a discussion with your personal healthcare team before trying anything discussed on the show.
