James had never seen Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Magnolia’, so he watched it with Dan and they recorded a podcast about it.
A pivotal film in Anderson’s early career, ‘Magnolia’ has an ensemble cast to die for and a fantastic script, but does the movie’s ambition ultimately derail it and why is everybody singing?

'The Wicker Man' & 'Don't Look Now' Double Bill
In 1973 ‘Don’t Look Now’ and ‘The Wicker Man’ were released in the UK as a double feature, with the cult classic ‘The Wicker Man’ as the supporting picture to the main release of Nicolas Roeg’s ‘Don’t Look Now’.
James (who’s 16) had never seen either of these horror classics before, so we watched them back-to-back (with a 15-minute intermission) and recorded a podcast about the experience.
Why are there so many parallels between the two films and does watching them as a double bill impact your overall opinion of each?
Warning: As these films are 50 years old, we talk openly about their twists and key plot points.

Talkin’ Film Club: Vampire Movies
In this episode of Talkin’ Talk Club, Dan, James and Jim sink their teeth into their favourite Vampire movies.
Why are we drawn to vampire movies above other creature features; Are modern vampires always the coolest characters in the movie; and is Keanu Reeves' performance in Bram Stoker’s Dracula actually pretty good?
