Patrick McNamara spent 22 years in the United States Army in a myriad of special operations units. He retired from the Army's premier hostage rescue unit as a Sergeant Major. He’s recognized as one of the leading experts in marksmanship, gun-handling, and tactical applications having trained people from all walks of life. Pat’s the author of T.A.P.S. (Tactical Application of Practical Shooting), The Sentinel: Become the Agent in Charge of Your Own Security Protection Detail, and Combat Strength Training: The No-Nonsense Retrofit for Your Combat Chassis. On the business side, McNamara is the founder of Combat Strength Training, a fitness training methodology with deep roots in the US Army Special Operations community, and TMACS Inc. He's also the co-host of the University of Badassery Podcast. I first came across Pat when I heard him on the Joe Rogan Experience and I joined the ranks of the hundreds of thousands of followers Pat has on Instagram, where he shares a variety of his ludicrous and unconventional outdoor workouts, comical "Basic Dude Stuff" segments, and clips from the range. World Class Dads Podcast - WCD 005: Hal Elrod

Hal Elrod is an entrepreneur, best-selling author, keynote speaker, and podcaster. He's best known for his 2012 best-selling book, The Miracle Morning, which has grown into a personal development phenomenon, selling over 1 million copies and translated into 27 languages. The Miracle Morning online community boasts nearly 300,000 members on Facebook and is regarded as one of the fastest growing and most engaged online communities in existence. Hal actually died at age 20. Hit head-on by a drunk driver at 70 miles per hour, his heart stopped for 6 minutes, he broke 11 bones, and eventually woke from a coma to be told by doctors that he would never walk again. Not only did Hal walk, he went on to run a (52 mile) ultra-marathon and become a hall of fame business achiever—before the age of 30. Then, in November of 2016, Hal nearly died again—his kidneys, lungs, and heart on the verge of failing, which led to his being diagnosed with a very rare, very aggressive form of cancer. As you could imagine, with kids and family, he had to tap into the depths of his mindset practices to get through that experience. World Class Dads Podcast - WCD 002: Tucker Max

Our guest today is the one and only Tucker Max. You may know Tucker from his world-famous books detailing his drunken tales of tomfoolery and chasing women, including I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. What you might not know is that four of his books have been New York Times Best Sellers, which have sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide. He's credited with being the originator of the literary genre, “fratire,” and is only the third writer (after Malcolm Gladwell and Michael Lewis) to ever have three books on the New York Times Nonfiction Best Seller List at one time. He was even nominated to the Time Magazine 100 Most Influential List in 2009. Now, while that all makes for an impressive resume, you still may be wondering why I would have invited him to join me on a podcast about fatherhood and family values. Well, Tucker isn't one of those guys who finds something he's good at and then holds on until he's washed up and trying to hold onto a thread of his former glory. Quite the opposite in fact. Once he realized that partying and sharing the details of debauchery was no longer fun for him, he simply stopped doing it. What did he do instead? Started a massively successful company, Scribe Media, that helps people write, publish, and market their own books. He also got married, had three children, and places his family as his number one priority. And THAT is why we're talking with him today, and he does not disappoint. He shares some amazing feedback on his family rules, reframing the perspective that kids are disruptive to your life, and the importance of being present with your kiddos. Kyle Kingsbury is a former professional Mixed Martial Artist, Director of Human Optimization at Onnit, and now hosts the massively successful Kyle Kingsbury Podcast. He's a multiple-time guest on the Joe Rogan podcast, a beast of a man (just Google his name), and an all-around fascinating dude to learn from. This is a wild episode. From fighting at the highest level in the UFC, to his extensive work with plant medicines (yes we dive into psychedelics), to the extremes of bio-hacking and human performance, Kyle brings a unique perspective on fatherhood that I was honored to learn from.
