Send a note to Allen & Donna...WELCOME BACK!!
There's been an accident at the Tarlek home!! The kids are fine...so's Lucille. No, the victim of this tragedy is Greenpeace. Not ringing a bell? Greenpeace is the name of Bunny's pet frog. She's become something of an environmentalist at the tender age of 9. Greenpeace got in the way of Herb's cabinet painting and wound up...pink.
There's no 911 for Frogs! The vet won't even make a house call. Herb decides to bring his sad little shoe box with the holes cut in the top into work hoping for...something. Can one of the gang help Herb with some magical frog resuscitation? Not likely, but we're game to watch them give it a try!
Greenpeace gets doused with coffee water, prodded by a podiatrist and ultimately expires on Herb's desk. When the day is done, and Herb is forced to confront a concerned Bunny...well, you'll have to push 'play' and see which way this thing is going to hop!
WATCH ALONG DETAILS...

[Want to watch along with us? It's a blast!! We highly recommend the 'Shout Factory' boxed DVD set of the entire WKRP series. For reasons you'll have to listen to in the "Prolog" episode, all streaming versions of the original "WKRP in Cincinnati" have had the original music cues removed. Generic music beds and stings were used in place of the original music for the syndicated version of the series. 'Shout Factory' has been able to restore an estimated 85% of all WKRP music cues to the original "as-aired" content for their DVD release. They've also restored scenes that had been cut to shorten episodes for syndication. The original eps ran 25 minutes. The syndication eps were shortened to 22 minutes. Over 88 episodes that's more than four hours of lost content, including the performance by "Detective" at the end of "Hoodlum Rock." Get the COMPLETE series...get the Shout Factory DVDs. The Shout Factory complete series box has a release date of 2014. All individual seasons of Shout Factory disks were released starting in 2015.]
The WKRP-Cast is a weekly re-watch podcast spending time with the original "WKRP in Cincinnati" which aired from 1978-82. New episodes every Tuesday. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Art's been tapped by the Ohio Broadcaster's Association to give a speech at a dinner. He's got his 3 by 5 cards and he's done his research...but he's scared to DEATH about speaking to these guys. As Art says, "they can be a mean bunch." The speech is tonight, but Art is trying to back out. Andy, with a little help from Jennifer, convinces the Big Guy to give his speech in front of the troops to bolster his confidence.
It's a pretty boring speech. Sorry, Art...but, wow! Snoozerino! As Art drones on, the gang is lost in their own thoughts. We are able...through the magic of TV, and the incredibly hard work of a talented team of set, lighting and design people...to peer into everyone's thoughts and Daydreams!!
Herb is running his own country...well, so's Bailey for that matter...and Les is reporting from war-torn London. Venus is doing standup and Johnny is a whacked out rockstar (more whacked out than usual). The whole gang gets a chance to live their fantasies. Too bad Andy's doesn't go any further than the programming office.
Wake up! You really should pay attention. Splash your face with a little cold water, then push "play."

S3E12 - "Venus and the Man"

Send a note to Allen & Donna...WELCOME BACK!!
We meet WKRP's cleaning lady, Cora...and she's got a problem. Her "little boy" Arnold just isn't all that into school. He's 16 and finding more success on the streets than in the classroom. Cora has turned to Venus Flytrap for his advice and help. Could he maybe have a talk with young Arnold?
Young Arnold turns out to be a middle-aged man...but we'll have to overlook that for the story. He's just as big, tricky and mean as his mama said. He also does NOT understand chemistry. Venus bets Arnold he can get Arnold to understand the atom in two minutes.
What happens next is one of the most amazing chemistry lessons ever aired on a sitcom. It won a Humanitas Award for script writer Hugh Wilson. It's also a pretty darn good piece of visual learning and metaphor.
Push "play" and join us in the storeroom as Professor Venus takes center stage. We're about to learn all about the atom and, if there's time...we'll do a little something on magnets.
