Episode 5: The Trauma Narrative
Adam and Milt discuss the meaning of trauma-informed care. Adam talks about the “trauma narrative” and how we all have one—to some extent—going back to childhood. This informs our personality and patterns of thinking and behaviors. Also, Adam discusses individual values and beliefs and the difference between thinking about changing your actions versus acting to change your thinking. And finally, the topic of Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is broached. EMDR is a form of psychotherapy developed by Francine Shapiro in the 1990s.

Episode 7: Sound Minds Recovery Centers and Hope
Milt and Adam discuss the future opening and importance of Sound Minds Recovery Centers (SMRC) which will be located in Long Beach, Washington. WBH plans on standing up a 50-bed Residential Treatment Facility (hopefully January 2021) to expand the range of services that we can offer to our clients, adding in-patient treatment. We want to provide the whole continuum of trauma-informed, trauma-focused care, from inpatient to outpatient. Parts of this podcast are messages of hope, finding the strength to seek help, and interventions. We hope you enjoy!
