What could be better than a Hollywood wife and husband hosted podcast about nothing? Everything. Literally everything. Patton Oswalt should be embarrassed by this just in case he's not. His wife hasn't been interesting since 1989 and even then it wasn't about what was on her mind.

Cros joins us as we dissect Meredith Salenger's boring stories, Corey Feldman's math skills, Stuttering John's cure for Covid, Patty Brokenskull's Dr. Pepper review, and Opie's empathy.

This week we explore the world of Jeff Hysen, the man so devoid of humor that he podcasts with Tom Myers on purpose. Jeff is a lot of things, a lawyer, a Mets fan, a left-wing zealot, but no one will ever accuse him of being funny.

After we get some hot takes on the New York Mets with Mets fan Christian Bladt, we break down Hysen's stand up with Vinnie Paulino. Then we check out the longest Cringe of the Week ever, Stuttering John's interview with Doug Goodstein, Chad Zumock getting clowned on Misery Loves Company, Opie embarrassing himself, and guitar playing potato.

Who Are These Podcasts? - Ep533 - Joe Matarese Bombs and Copes
play

07/07/24 • 152 min

We’re changing things up this week by starting off with Stuttering John treating his mother like his servant. We also get a peak into what it’s like to be friends with John. Then we check in on Aaron Imholte who was very happy to read leaked documents when it showed that his former friends and ex-wife were arrested for coke possession. But now that there are documents that expose his domestic violence accusations he doesn’t like talking about these things anymore.

Then we bring in David Collins and D’licious to watch Joe Matarese bomb hard at a recent stand up show in Stamford, CT. He streamed to his YouTube channel what might be the most embarrassing show possible. But what’s worse is that he then went live from the street after the show to make excuses for why he bombed so hard. And finally we play a round of “To Catch An Alien,” check in on internet news, and listen to your voicemails.

People are starting to take notice of how horrific Khalyla Kuhn is as both a broadcaster and a person. So I decided we should revisit TigerBelly but lo and behold, Bert Kreischer was on the most recent episode. Oh well, I guess we have to talk about how terrible Bert is at broadcasting.

Trucker Andy joins the show (thankfully) to focus on Khalyla and Bobby's one-sided relationship. Then the host of Whatever talks to girls about video games, some dude who hosts a podcast no one has ever heard has a problem with me, Chad stream snipes my interview with Stuttering John, and Cardiff joins to catch an alien. And yes, I just got to interview Stuttering John and we discuss that a bit.

This week we learn about orgy domes and threesomes from two women who will sleep with you but only if you don't pay them money. They're whores not hookers. Get it right!

Cros is back on the show to make sense of why OnlyFans is great but prostitution is terrible. Then we check out what is literally the worst Stuttering John Podcast episode ever. Kyle, who thinks I'm Jewish and prefer men, calls in to have a friendly chat about who is actually the unfunny one. Then there's Patty C Cups, Opie B Cups, and even Jay's Apartment from the discord. A lot going on here.

Brendan Schaub has been making news lately for suing a person who made fun of him. I'm not looking for more lawsuits, however, I feel I need to do my part. Everyone should be clowning this unfunny simpleton. And he teamed up with Chris D'Elia?? Are you trying to become a recurring bit on this show?

Mike Geary from the Blind Mike Project joins us and even he can see how unappealing Schaub is. We also chat about O&A, Tom Myers, Stuttering John and the latest Opie song parodies. Keep them coming.

This week we’re competing for the worst podcast in the TV and Film category. Lucy Tightbox won last week and she comes in with a little swagger this time around. Andy also brought it. Who knew that podcasts about movies and TV shows could be terrible? Oh, everyone!

Lucy Tightbox and Andy Q Public found shows that celebrate bad movies and TV shows. Not a winning formula. But it doesn’t end there. Harrison Young has a big reveal, Tookie was on MLC and killed it, Stuttering John sings the worst song parody of all time, Opie gets humiliated by Luis J. Gomez, Patrick Melton gets over on Chad Zumock, and Cardiff joins us with a brand new game.

This week we check out a guy who has been podcasting since 2010 and before that he was on the radio. So you can bet, uhh, that he's, umm, really good, uhh, at, uh, broadcasting.

Tab from Here's What I Don't Get joins us to break down how Chris Hardwick doesn't care about his show and why you shouldn't either. Then Shuli hops on to discuss this latest Stuttering John appearance on Radio Gunk. There are so many threats. Monique, feel free to ask a follow up question someday.

Andrew Schulz and Charlamagne tha God seem like an unlikely duo and then you listen to how they work with each other. Wow, the chemistry is non-existent. These two guys seem like they just met and they really want to impress each other. And boy oh boy does Andrew think Andrew is funny!

Doug from Good Times Great Movies joins us to try to figure out what words Charlamagne is trying to use. Then Bobby Lee is dumb and Opie has a hot take about record stores. After that we got a tip that our old nemesis Marissa Jones from the Vanished podcast was arrested for drunk driving and then decided to complain about it on a podcast called The Peripheral. She acts like she’s a victim and it’s crazy! Also, Legion of Skanks makes Bert Kreischer watch the Crack Amico diss track and they get his immediate reaction, Paddy Pukewater has takes on Bad Bunny and Katt Williams, and Stuttering John lists his friends to prove to me that he isn’t a lonely loser at this stage of his life. Then we wrap things up with another round of To Catch An Alien, Internet News, and your voicemails.

After a long discussion about League of Legends, we get into the real meat of this episode, MBMBaM. This is a show that's been around for about 10 years and sounds like it started getting tired 2 years in.

Doug from the podcast Good Times, Great Movies joins the show to discuss terrible improv and laughing at your own jokes. We also drop in on Opie and give some updates on Stuttering John hoping to dox us, Kaya trying to ruin our show, and Band Practice Guy pitching a business venture.

An awful group of hasbeens treating a top tier celebrity and podcast host so poorly it should be considered a crime. The only redeeming person associated with this awful podcast is someone named Lucy who I had assumed was Asian for some reason. And the only thing this poor excuse for a human has going for him is he looks okay in a cow print bikini.
