Episode 1: Knights of Badassdom & The Trip to Italy
05/10/17 • 76 min
On our inaugural episode, we get down to business discussing the films that are coming out in March as well as exploring the good, the bad & the ugly of our netflix instant queues.
This show takes a look at wizards, demons, nerds and Peter Dinklage’s penchant for shrooms in KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM (directed by Joe Lynch) from 2013. Then we decide to go to the Italian country-side, enjoy fine cuisine, make fun of Tom Hardy, and have casual affairs in THE TRIP TO ITALY (directed by Michael Winterbottom) from 2014.
All of this plus movies we’ve never heard of, praise for Steve Zahn, jabs at Kevin Smith, respect for Jeff Bridges, and nostalgia for that guy who talks about that ‘bag in the wind’ from American Beauty.

Episode 2: House Arrest, Vampire in Brooklyn, Mean Machine
With the second episode of the podcast, we take a peek at the films coming to Netflix in April and guess what? (spoiler alert) it’s a ton of Leprechauns and a bunch of titles from last year that you’ve never heard of!
Then we take a crack at HOUSE ARREST (starring Jamie Lee Curtis & Kevin Pollack) from 1996. This kids film takes kidnapping to hilarious heights when a group of tweens lock their parents in the basement and all-hell ensues! All this, pizza, and Jennifer Love Hewitt, what more can you ask for?
Next we’re whisked away to the foggy streets of...Brooklyn, to hang out with a 1000 year old vampire played by Eddie Murphy as he adjusts to life in America, searches for his future bride, and gives one of the best church sermons we’ve ever heard. Plus John Witherspoon (aka Ice Cube’s dad in Friday) steals the show in Wes Craven’s underrated horror-comedy, VAMPIRE IN BROOKLYN from 1995.
And last, we go to prison with Vinnie Jones as he tries to coach a team of hooligans to play soccer, giving new meaning to the term. Tons of ass-kicking, face-punching, prison-brutality entertainment with the occasional mention of soccer (aka football) all culminating in a final showdown between the prisoners and the wardens. Who will be victorious? Who will lose? And who wouldn’t want to see Jason Stathum play a character called “The Monk”? This and more will be revealed in MEAN MACHINE (UK remake of The Longest Yard) from 2001.
