"What's Good?" W/ Charlie Taylor

In a week where:

  1. Wiley & Stormzy are trading bars.
  2. The Oscars will go without a host for the 2nd year in a row.
  3. A Mississippi governor says '1000 Years of Darkness' Will Begin If Mississippi Elects its First Black Senator
  4. Counter-Terrorism Police place Extinction Rebellion on an "Extremist Ideologies" list.
  5. Harry & Meghan chuck the deuces to Royal Family life.
  6. A&E Departments in England had their worst December performance on record
  7. Ocean temperatures hit a record high.
  8. Billie Eilish will be the performer for the new Bond title track "No Time To Die".

In the 1st Film/TV segment: (9:25) The Oscar nominations have arrived and they are not good. Very saturated and of course, *super* white.

In the 2nd Film/TV segment: (27:53) The BAFTAs are now the WAFTAs apparently! Somehow, they did worse on average than the Oscars and that's an amazing feat in itself.

In Music: (45:25) The BRIT Awards continue to be extremely disappointing. Whilst they gave Dave the equal most nominations, they seem to forget that women make music too!

Lastly, in Life: (56:41) I have always been a proponent of willing to be wrong. Turns out there is a term for it! Welcome to the world of Intellectual Humility.

Thank you for listening! If you want to contribute to the show, whether it be sending me questions or voicing your opinion in any way, peep the contact links below and I'll respond accordingly. Let me know "What's Good?"

Ep.59 - Australia: The Fires, The Response, The Implications

So for the past few weeks, I along with the rest of you have been seeing the tragic fires that have been going through Australia. Lives have been lost, homes have been burnt to the ground.

But as I've been seeing the coverage on the news & "Social" Media, I have felt like there's much more to this than a national emergency.

So I brought on Hip-Hop By The Numbers' & Diggin' In The Digits co-host Ben Carter to help me understand everything that has been going on in Australia. We talk about the fires, "Fire Season", the responses from their voluntary fire services and the lack of response by the Australian government.

I wanted clarity & I got it in spades, I hope you feel the same way.

Ep.61 - Exit Economics, Rock & Roll HOF & Zion Williamson

In a week where:

  1. 2019 was the 2nd hottest year on record.
  2. Greenpeace & Extinction Rebellion join neo-nazis on the UK Counter-Terrorist list.
  3. A new study finds that 47 is the most miserable age for a person.
  4. The US Senate begins the 2nd round of Donald Trump's Impeachment.
  5. Saudi Arabia hacked Jeff Bezos.

In Life: (9:35) We're just over a week away from leaving the EU. But what about the economic hit that we've taken in the past three, nearly four years? Hint: It's a BIG hit...

In Music: (22:37) The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its new inductees including the likes of The Notorious B.I.G & Whitney Houston. But regardless of these great picks, the R&R HoF is terrible when it comes to female representation & not picking LL Cool J.

In Film/TV: (37:34) You may remember that I spent a segment talking about Tyler Perry. I left that segment feeling the same way I did coming in. I don't know how to gauge him. But now, after the release of his new film "A Fall From Grace", I now know where I stand with Perry.

Lastly, in Sports: (53:19) Zion Williamson is finally making his NBA debut after missing half of the season. So let's get to know Zion a little and why the hype is so high.
