Are you practicing gratitude because you feel like you have-to? Kevin Monroe learned about the benefits of a morning gratitude routine, and he started doing it as a ‘to-do’ list item. It was only after a difficult personal time with depression that he realized that to feel the real benefits of gratitude, he would have to start feel gratitude in his heart. He got a ‘download’ to start This ExtraOrdinary Life which is now ‘A global community of ordinary people that seek to live life with intention and purpose.’ Kevin now lives his days in gratitude and inspires others to do so through his community and the Gratitude Ambassadors group on LinkedIn (where we connected!).

Join Kavita Maharaj and I for a self-love interview that explores a number of relevant topics including how her yoga studio has navigated the COVID-19 crisis. We discuss how they adapted when the pandemic was first announced and how they are re-adjusting now that some of the restrictions are lifted. We also talk about how it's critical to navigate the dark times in order to appreciate the light and why gratitude is crucial.

Kavita is the Director of Red Door Yoga Nanaimo and has been teaching yoga and leading yoga teacher training for 17 years. She is a traditional practicing yogi. Originally from the Toronto area, she grew up in Trindad and returned to Toronto as a teen. She's now been living on the West Coast of Canada for more than a decade and considers this her home.

Wake Up With Gratitude - #48 - Transforming Your Life After Surviving Childhood Trauma
play

05/12/20 • 32 min

Ayódele O Kolade is a Transformation Specialist and a certified NLP Master Practitioner & Trainer. She transformed her own life after having grown up with depression throughout her childhood and early adulthood. After going through many difficult traumas, she began her healing journey.

Recorded in March 2020, right before the global pandemic, this interview is especially important to those who are going through a very difficult time. Her story is a testament that you can survive the darkest of times and transform your life, with the right support and coaching. We are in a mental health crisis right now, and her advice may be life changing for some of you. If you are in immediate danger, please call your local mental health support services today.

Ayódele used these modalities (including NLP, Hypnotherapy and Time Line Therapy®️) in her own journey, and then decided to make it her life's mission to help others to heal as well.

I share her mission statement in our interview, as I found it so incredibly powerful: "I am dedicated to assisting people in transforming the pain and darkness from the past into light, self-acceptance and the deepest understanding of themselves possible. I am committed to the personal growth and evolution of each client that I serve and make it my mission to assist you in achieving the happiness, confidence, self-belief and personal mastery so that you can truly be the person you want to be in the world."

Ayódele spends most of her social media time on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ayodeleokolade/

And I encourage you to check out her website too: https://www.ayodeleokolade.com/
