Released in the US on this day in 1988, LOVE BITES became the groups first and so far, only number 1 single in America. It came from the monster album Hysteria and ended up topping the Billboard Hot 100 on October 8th that year. Songs were recorded by some of Britpop's biggest names including Paul Weller, Primal Scream, Ocean Colour Scene and the Buzzcocks. 80% of the profits were going towards Small Faces bass player Ronnie Lane's multiple sclerosis treatment.
