Veils to the Soul

Well, this one's definitely an Episode of two halves!
Part 1: Conditioning Occurring in the Family Setting
We revisit the two-fold model of Glitch/Wound*, or AS/IF*+incarnation. Death, Guilt, Shame etc. deeply originate in psychospiritual territory, 'pre-dating' birth (and typically continuing until and even after death!). Then, fear-of-death, and guilt-and-shame, are powerful conduits for rules-of-belonging, conditioning children to think, feel, and act in family-specific, limited modes.
Yes, But ,,, Is That All Bad?!
This Universe can be seen in two ways. It's a perfect place to hide out from GoB*, intentionally forever. Or, it's a perfect place to gradually recover the GoB relationship. Analogously, 'damaging' family conditioning that creates separative veils can be seen as a useful way to dim an otherwise-triggering Divine Light. Similarly, if attachment in early-life is 'too secure', there can be a comfort that obstructs a movement away from ultimately-false family beliefs (the ultimately most-significant of these being about matter and local-reality!).
Recurrence of Family Conditioning: 'Transcend and Return'
Even after a first-pass liberation from family conditioning, on the way to transcending local-reality and conventional-identity, there are certain return-to-incarnate-life paths that can involve the recurrence of those same familial energies and constraints. The Veils framework can be uniquely helpful in understanding and navigating this recurrence, via the idea that matter itself contains potent forms of imprisonment, and a pointer to the ARC* (and 'Troot' - the origin-point of the ARC) as the reality-aspect designed to help us navigate matter and its Enlightenment!
Part 2: Conditioning Inherent in the Construct/Conception of 'Family'
In a switch of view, really standing in and for One Cosmic Family, without division, the second half explores a somewhat contrary view: 'Yes, Family really is essentially an unhelpful and pointless societal construct!' (For example - according to this view: current conceptions of 'family' always take us away from that One Family, and try to keep us away from relationship with the Ground.)
Family as Structure for Free Play, vs Obstructive/Divisive Construct
The Knowledge/Mystery frontier is one of humankind's crucial (and unappreciated!) challenges: how do we put structure (e.g. 'knowledge') together with un-structure (aka 'Mystery') in a way that simply expands Goodness? This doesn't happen when 'structure' means 'conditioned bondage'! Similarly, current 'family' conceptions might mean bondage, but future versions may offer structures for free play!
Soul Family
Souls emphasize specific aspects in One Being; emphases on relatively-similar aspects create Soul families. In one view, resonance between Soul-family members can help propel Souls out of material identification and towards astral realms. On the other hand, Souls can linger in the family level, mis-identifying that as real-Reality, or Heaven - once again, highlighting the double-edged nature of Family!

What are Life Statements and Limiting Beliefs?
One model depicts Statements and Beliefs as a tree, with a trunk formed from one of two positions: 'I'm bad', or 'I'm worthless/not-good-enough'. Branches and twigs coming off this trunk are typically formed by ingesting and crystallizing some Family Beliefs, by self-directed creative cognitions, and/or by pressures from society and culture.
As with other aspects of early-life psychology, this structure can have far greater impact than current mainstream science allows. E.g., if inaccurate and limiting statements are pushed into 'the causal mind', they don't just govern how we react to or process events (as mainstream science can allow for). They can govern or influence the very life-events we create!
The Belief that Originates All Limits!
As previous Episodes discuss, the Veils approach identifies twocausal components for human suffering: a pre-birth Cosmic Glitch* (also prior to the birth of the Universe!), and an in-life Primal Wound - the definitive incarnational 'landing' of the Glitch.
Traditional treatments discuss limiting beliefs only relative to the Wound and incarnational-local events (perhaps including conception, gestation and birth - but only of the child, not of the Universe!) The Veils approach points out the belief that's the source of all limits, a belief predating the Universe itself: 'It's a good idea for a Soul to try to be self-creating'!
Veils' Unique Treatment of Matter's Life Statements
A powerful and unique feature of the Veils framework treats the material Universe as a repackaging of guilt, fear, fury, grief etc, originating in the Great AS/IF*. This frame makes it meaningful to speak about Life Statements and Limiting Beliefs of matter itself, a construct which no other approach can support (to our knowledge!).
The densest, darkest Life Statement is 'suffering and separation go on forever' - in fact the very origin of the matter-field's density and mass.
Matter's Life Statements Can Diffuse into Psyche
Psyche can be thought of as a bubble with a membrane protecting it from matter's darkest density. But this membrane can become permeable. 'Suffering is forever' can then pour into psyche. We discuss the cases of chronic refractory depression, and drug-induced psychosis. How are Life Statements and Limiting Beliefs Healed/Released?
What's required for the release of limiting beliefs?

1. An intention to change must be evoked - curiosity, or crisis!
2. Something responds to this intention!
3. That 'something' uses 'various' mechanisms in consciousness!
4. Once change has begun, the mind seeks a new congruence, and various mechanisms - for example, tapping, affirmations etc. - can support unfolding and integration of new equilibrium.

The 'something' and its 'various' mechanisms (2+3 above) depend on domain:

• Psychologically: a separated mind-bubble can see the untruth, e.g. of 'I still have to think like a kid'!
• Psycho-spiritually: that same mind-bubble can't see the untruth of its own separation - it needs the help of the ARC*!

Primal Wound - Definition
The Primal Wound is essentially early-life trauma that severs the connection to 'Self' - who we are in real-Reality*! In later life, as well as self-alienation, we can feel disconnected and act disconnected from other humans, from Nature, and from the Ground-of-Being itself.
The Glitch/Wound Controversy
The Primal-Wound hypothesis has started to become culturally-acceptable, even conventional. (E.g.: anti-Trump explanations of his behavior in terms of his father-Wound!)
This Episode asserts that placing all the ills-of-the-world at the feet of the Primal Wound has gone a therapy-session-or-ten too far. An alternative is that the Cosmic Glitch* is causally-prior to, and causally more-significant than, the Primal Wound.

The Wholeness/Oneness Distinction
'Wholeness' can point to inner coherence of a given Being, and 'Oneness' can label non-separation of All Beings. Then Primal Wound is the fundamental disruption of wholeness, and Glitch is the fundamental disruption of Oneness.
A Wound-Free World = Heaven-on-Earth?!
In the extreme version of current cultural-momentum about Wound-as-source-of-all-ills, a Wound-free world would be Heaven, Nirvana etc. We strongly dissent from this view! And see it as a dangerous avoidance of deeper enquiry!
Primal Wound: Distinct from Glitch, Not Disconnected from Glitch!
It's important to see Glitch and Wound as two distinct things,. But it's also helpful to see them as two ends of one piece of string: the Glitch starts a connected-process that 'ends' in the Wound.
Primal Wound and Earth-Relationship
The entire matter-Universe is the body of a child - the child of Divine Masculine and Feminine essences, whose relationship is 'infected' with Glitch. The Primal Wound/Glitch model draws attention to this child's consciousness - what we call the Fallen Universal Soul. And so to the need for the Total Awakening of the Universe, including the Awakening or Enlightenment of Matter (a frankly astonishing implication of the Veils framework!).
Both Up-and-Down, as a Comprehensive Approach to Undoing Glitch
In a 'three-world' model, 'Heaven' is Above, 'Earth' is the Middle, and 'Underworld' is Below. (In this model, Below is the domain of the Fallen Universal Soul.) Various extant, traditional, approaches in human spirituality (e.g. non-dualisms, shamanic practices) tend to approach either the Above or the Below. But a comprehensive approach to the Glitch (the causal root of separation and suffering) must go Up and Down. This is - essentially - the Veils, Total Awakening, approach.
The Glitch/Wound Framework in the Modern, Scientific , Material World
The Glitch/Wound-framework applied to the material Universe leads to the mind-bending, tradition-shattering, identification of the Fallen Universal Soul, and the 'new tradition' of Total Awakening. The same framework also offers a startling new frame for matter (as congealed energy from the AS/IF*), thus leading to a novel, pristine integration with modern science!

A Tumultuous Romp through Gender in Spiritual Life, with Oliver Baum and Nicholas Rosseinsky
Starting in the 'Beyond'!
The crucial starting point for our tour: the Ground-of-Being* and the One-Being*(True Self, Buddha Nature, Christ Consciousness) are neither masculine nor feminine! This level of Reality is genderless, or as Oliver likes to call it, 'isogenous'.
Psychospiritual vs Psychological
We descend from genderless Ground/One, via three realms: the psychospiritual, the psychological, and the material. We only get to 'bodies' - a primary component of current controversies - in the last of those!
We use (Nicholas' desecration of!) David Deida's extraordinary approach, to traverse the psychospiritual realm. There, 'masculine' has to do with space/stillness/non-movement, Truth, and Purpose; 'feminine' has to do with movement and Love.
In more-familiar psychological accounts, the masculine is agentic, going out into the world to accomplish goals, and the feminine is receptive and nurturing. Here the masculine seems closer to movement and the feminine to stillness: the opposite of the psychospiritual realm!
Why are things so confusing?! Because we're in a post-(Imagined!)-Fall* Universe, in which many (but not all!) things are arranged to obscure/obstruct the Journey Home! Masculine/feminine terrain can be a huge challenge ... But equally, a powerful resource! Psychospiritual Possibilities: Divine/Non-Separate vs 'Nearly-Divine'!
In Universes without separation, every Being has complete masculine-&-feminine aspects: 'Divine' can be used to describe this configuration. But in ourUniverse, it seems there was a Glitch* early on in pre-Big-Bang dynamics, which (amongst other things) typically disrupts both a given Being's access to her/his own completeness, and the inter-Being relating of masculine and feminine aspects. Gender Identity Controversies
Our frame allows an unconventionally-diverse spectrum of energetic configurations (including a beyond-gender aspect for every Being!). Unlike every other frame we know of, it also has a clear place for matter (aka 'bodies'!). So, we're able to offer some new (maybe even helpful!) views on current fierce debates. The Battle of the Sexes, and the Glitch
The so-called 'Battle of the Sexes' is often attributed to society and its historic norms, and/or to childhood wounding. In the Veils approach, we don't deny or bypass the significance of these. But we do point to what seems to be a massively-neglected factor deeeeep in the Earthly battle - namely, the near-Cosmic Glitch. Gender and the deVeiling/Awakening Process
We can look at the Battle of the Sexes as a potentially-endless conflict. We can also see the tremendous energies at play as an opportunity: to find the Glitch, inside our intimate relationships, and use that finding - with Love and Devotion - to de-animate It, on behalf of all Beings ... and so advance the Total-Awakening* of the Universe!

The Beginning: Who we are, What this is, and Where it's going!
What is the 'Veils to the Soul' podcast?
'Veils to the Soul' invites you into a tapestry of conversations that Oliver and Nicholas began in 2020. In subsequent weekly Episodes, we address (or at least to begin with!) a specific topic, and explore it relative to a definite but lightly-held reality-map (a new integration of science and spirituality).
The second half of this Episode-1 (starting at 31:00) sketches key landmarks in the reality-map we use in later Episodes, starting from the Ground-of-Being, tracing the origin and nature of matter, and establishing the position of our local Universe in the greater Cosmos. (Physically, and spiritually!)
Where is this podcast headed?
Ultimately, the point or purpose of the conversation, the map, and the topic-list, is to offer a new and comprehensive embrace of the human condition. Depending on your spiritual/scientific/societal taste, this embrace hopes to: contribute to the total Awakening of this Universe; catalyze a radical and rigorous scientific revolution; and/or, help found the next great phase of human civilization!
