The recruiting episode is finally here. We go over the USC Trojans and Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2021 recruiting classes. Despite his usual aversion to recruit talk, Greg gave Michael homework and had him watch everyone’s recruiting videos tp properly prepare for the episode. We start with USC who landed the top recruit in the nation Korey Foreman. We talk about what we are looking for on the tape, how to judge a player’s performance, position changes, and who we like. For the Trojans Michael is all in on quarterback Miller Moss, cornerback Prophet Brown and Joseph Manjack, the do it all receiver from Texas with a great name. The Fighting Irish recruits Greg has grown fond of are, high school Butkus award winner Prince Kollie and wide receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr. Two more great names. We also talk about new Notre Dame transfer quarterback Jack Coan and new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman.

What a weekend for college football! Both the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the USC Trojans pulled off impressive victories as underdogs.

We start with USC, where quarterback Miller Moss delivered a standout performance against the LSU Tigers. Moss played exceptionally well, proving himself as a capable starter. But Moss wasn’t the only highlight for the Trojans; their defense made crucial plays and avoided costly mistakes. Greg had to remind Michael of this after he complained about a lack of big plays. All in all, Lincoln Riley’s team showcased a balanced effort, combining a solid offense with a stingy defense. Plus, don’t miss our discussion on the controversial dominance of PFF (Pro Football Focus) in football analytics.

We then turn to Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish secured a significant road win against Texas A&M. The Notre Dame defense lived up to its hype, stifling the Aggies throughout the game. The defensive backs were particularly impressive, with multiple interceptions that demonstrated their All-American status. While the offense had some struggles, it delivered when it counted, and the offensive line, despite being untested, paved the way for over 200 rushing yards.
