We talk about his journey through COVID and the connections and relationships he had built to allow him to continue training throughout the pandemic, which subsequently led him to receiving his pro card.

Underdog Podcast - Surround Yourself With the Right People with Jess Racz
play

09/07/22 • 69 min

In this episode, we interview coach Jess Racz who is a former basketball player and current basketball trainer working with NBA/WNBA, G-League, Pro, NCAA, and all the way down to the youth level.
She suffered an eating disorder and severe depression in high school going into college which hindered her ability to fulfill her dream of playing division 1 college basketball. While searching for a new passion, she found CrossFit, but shortly after, herniated her L5-S1 and was out for 10 months.
She was in a very dark place and that is when she decided to pursue the strength & conditioning and sports performance industry. To get there, she started mopping floors at 20 years old, opened up my own gym location at 23, and now is climbing the ranks of basketball performance training.

We also discuss his battle through his ACL/meniscus tear back in 2020. Before transferring to the University of Michigan for this coming year, he competed with the U23 world team.

In this episode, we interview Invisible Force Founder and CEO, James DeMorrow.
It's hard enough starting a company - 20% of new businesses fail during the first two years of being open, 45% during the first five years, and 65% during the first 10 years. Only 25% of new businesses make it to 15 years or more (Investopedia). Starting a company at the ripe age of 19 lowers those percentages by a significant amount.
We talk with James about the challenges he's faced thus far, his development as an entrepreneur from a young age, and the crossover from sports to business. One common theme in this interview is his ability to take actionable steps towards a desired outcome, regardless of the discomfort involved.
