This podcast we look at two more personality types when it comes to work and how we take action.  Are you impulsive or a cliff hanger?

If you are impulsive you might:

Ø Act spontaneously
Ø Miss deadlines, letting others down
Ø Act in haste - Act first. Think later.

If you are a cliff hanger you might:

Ø Procrastinate
Ø Like the adrenaline rush/time pressure helps focus
Ø Like a last minute start that can add stress, missed deadlines
Ø Underestimate the time tasks take

If you are one of these types or a combination of the two, Catherine is going to discuss in this podcast how you can adjust or modify these traits to be more productive and efficient in your workplace setting.

Are you the big picture or perfectionist type?  Maybe a combination of both?

If you are more of a big-picture type, some of these probably describe you:

 Prefer global strategies.

  • Produce multiple ideas.
  • Under-estimate time things take especially detail-oriented tasks.
  • Expect others to be mind-readers and magically understand.

 Sound like you?

Maybe you are more of a perfectionist and these characteristics are more like you:

  • Have to be able to do everything yourself and do it well.
  • Hard time saying no.
  • Worried about others’ approval.
  • Struggle to understand the difference between having high standards and being superman/wonder woman.

Either way, you have a way of doing things that work for you, or does it?

In this podcast, Catherine helps you understand these two types of styles. She will give you easy ways to implement strategies to work more efficiently and productive within your own work style.

Gardening and office productivity, how are they related?  Think about it, gardening isn’t a one-time thing where you plant and that is it.  You need to plan before you start,  you need to observe what is working and what is not, you often need to tweak or prune to make your garden more vibrant or more in line with your plan and sometimes it is necessary to move items around in your garden just like you need to do in your business life.

Catherine, your host, will guide you through the garden path that is your office environment to help you weed and dead head things that need to be removed or fertilized so as to make you more productive.

A special note from your host, Catherine:
This series is all about how our well-being affects our productivity.
If we don’t take care of ourselves first, we won’t be able to be truly productive.
Considering the world is working from home, it’s more important than ever to put the oxygen mask on first.
It’s week 2 of working from home in the time of social distancing. How’s everyone holding up?
Catherine and Patty Lennon keep it real around what it’s like to work from home with the entire family home and how lucky they are to have enough space to close the door. They offer strategies for managing this time even if you have less space.
With empathy, humor and a dash of magic, they discuss how to receive everything – the good, the bad and the ugly – and why that’s more important now than ever.
Patty reassures us that now is the time to go inward, so we can better serve the people we love. About Patty Lennon:
Patty Lennon is a keynote speaker and best selling author that helps women create space for magic in their lives and businesses.
She founded The Receiving School to help others open to their own receiving energy using a blend of common sense, brain science and a dash of magic.

What does joy look like? Today Catherine talks with her friend Yasmin, creator of the Joyful Living Project. They talk about how joy can be a part of everyday life, even in a world that can be stressful and challenging at time. The Joyful Living Project is about traveling the country gathering stories of joy and spreading joy to others. Yasmin shares how he stays productive on the road and how he manages the uncertainty when he’s not at home. Yasmin shares the 3 key forms of joy.
  • Redefining what home is
  • Letting go
  • Learning to receive
Meet Yasmin
In 2012, Yasmin suffered complete burnout trying to run 5 businesses. Overwhelmed, exhausted, and checked out, he left work one afternoon and headed to the Oregon Coast. That changed everything. In the next 18 months, he returned to the coast 52 times discovering a new way of living and working that healed his body, deepened his relationships, and transformed his life. Yasmin shares why he does this work. He believes that when we intentionally create space to rest, grow, connect, and give, we refuel the fire of our impact. In the last 3 years, he has refined his approach to burnout recovery and created the Retirement Day PracticeTM and Organizational Gratitude PracticeTM methods. Yasmin's passion for helping women in business is inspired by his mother’s courage and sacrifice for a better life for her children. In 1978, she led her three infant children through the jungle to board a small boat. Fleeing Communist Vietnam, they were rescued at sea as their boat sank to the bottom of the ocean. Every day he is so grateful for the gift of his mother's courage and the opportunity to transform lives through this work. Connect with Yasmin: Follow Joyful Joe Website Instagram

My guest, Aron Croft, and I discuss inattentive ADHD and how this presentation means people are frequently lost in the cracks. If you don’t fit that stereotype. Aron explains how inattentive type presents and shares his own story of being diagnosed later in life.

With ADHD the passion alone isn’t enough. You have to have a goal that you’re genuinely excited about and identify our super skills. Streamlined productivity systems are a necessity for people who can’t get off the couch.

Finally, Aron shares his three productivity strategies.

Bio

Aron Croft appeared to have it all when he got into Harvard but that was the beginning of his demise. He struggled nonstop for 15 years until he was broke, divorced, and earning minimum wage, failing out of his first 7 jobs and businesses.

After getting a Master's degree in Coaching Psychology and a diagnosis of Inattentive ADHD, his life changed and he built a successful Fortune 500 career consulting to companies such as Marriott, Deloitte, Johnson & Johnson, McDonald's, KPMG, and United Healthcare.

He also got remarried, and most importantly, discovered how to get sh*t done with a neurodivergent brain. Now he’s on a mission to raise awareness about Inattentive ADHD, how it goes under the radar, and how to rebuild your life post-diagnosis.
