Leita talks to us about joining the Peace Corps at age fifty-five and spending three years in a village in Senegal, "where the Sahara meets the Atlantic." She shares some of her experiences there and reads an excerpt from her book, Roller Skating in the Desert, which is currently out of print but may be available through book resellers such as Abe Books.
Leita also discusses winning the Lilian Carter Award in 2017 and meeting Jimmy Carter.
Leita promises to come back to talk about her time in Haiti and her book, In the Valley of Atibon, available on Amazon and eBay.
Thanks to Leita for a fascinating story
