This is the second part of the extra-long Mother's Day episode on the Trying Hard to Be Appropriate podcast. To kick it off, the boys talk to Abbie, Brock's wife, about the ups and downs of motherhood, as well as co-parenting with the son of a Travel Agent. Abbie is expecting and could literally go in to labor at any moment. Luckily, she did not.
Next, the dudes play Mom's the Word, where Brock and Shilo have to guess a phrase or word that has the word "mom" or "mother" in it, using a definition provided by Ryan. Shilo gets smoked in this one.
Finally, the guys play Mom or Not, where they have to guess whether or not a celebrity is a mom.

Episode 6: One for All the Muthas, Part 1

In this first part of an extra long Mother's Day episode, Brock, Shilo, and Ryan pay respect to some of the main women in their lives. They are joined first by Ryan's mom, Kris, as her house served as a central hub for many friends when Ryan was younger. She shares stories about all three of the hosts because she was present as the three of them stumbled into adulthood. Kris provides awesome memories, humble opinions, and sound advice for parenthood...including what to do if Ryan drinks Jagermeister.
Up next, Ryan's wife, Jeeni, comes on to answer questions about mothering their two boys and the challenges that come with that role. She also delves into what it's like to co-parent with Ryan. Jeeni is clearly the rudder that keeps everything on course in their house as Ryan...well, Ryan likes to laugh and have a good time. If you're going to eat the last of anything in their house you'd better clear it with Jeeni first.
These two women are a welcome addition as the boys continue to try their best to be appropriate! Enjoy this first part of an extra long Mother's Day episode! Next week we will hear from Brock's wife Abbey and the guys will dabble in some mother-themed games.

Episode 8: Brian Corn, QUOR, the Slow and the Mildly Agitated, Bears On Cocaine!

Ohh, we have a good one for you this time out! Brian Corn, longtime friend, Modesto native, and founding member/singer/guitarist of the band QUOR, came on and shared memories, anecdotes, and glimpses into the future of the band. Ryan and Brock have a long shared history with Brian that goes back to the repurposing of some neglected wood to construct a halfpipe in the garage of a house that Brock and Ryan lived at. Brian was present for many nights of youthful bliss at the house and the guys reflect on some of those times.
Brian, now a San Diegan(?), goes on to share the history of his band, QUOR, some of their experiences on numerous state-side and international tours, and a close look at Japan as they gear up to leave in a couple of weeks on a Japan tour. They also are releasing their new single, Sam Meets Sara, on May 30th, one day prior to this episode releasing. It's a fantastic interview with an awesome dude.
Next, Brian sticks around and they watch the trailer for the new Fast & Furious movie. It looks really bad, despite casting every available big-name actor they could get to agree. Drones with lasers? Gyrospheres? Big launches off of Hoover dam? Yikes.
Finally, the guys take a quick look at Cocaine Bear that quickly meanders off into a discussion about bad movies that are awesome, such as WolfCop, The Room, and a few others. Brian proves to have an abundance of information about good bad movies!
