My Rice Crispies are talking, but what are they saying?! Trains, trains, lots of trains! Happy holidays all and welcome to our first megasode! We were still doing a remote recording with Malcom, Chuck, and Chase for this one. Krysti opens us up with Union Station in downtown Indy. The first union station in the US, this paved the way for train stations to become easier to access for folks. This historic building has gone through several iterations to serve the foks in Indy in a variety of ways. As a hotel this is probably not going to be a destination for Malcom or Krysti due to the ghosts/manikins. Malcom bridges the middle with the Mumler photos and the story of the great spirit photography trend/con. Mumler paved the way for several other folks that capitalized on people’s grief for their own profit. Tori rounds out the megasode with the story of the London Necropolis Railway and Brookwood Cemetery. Another result of the lack of burial space in London proper at the time, this railway and train station were iconic in London from the 1850s and decades later.

We had to roll for initiative to figure the order for this one. Krysti starts us off strong with an Indiana legend, Cole Porter. His musical career started at a young age and wrote one of the Yale fight songs that is still used to this day. From college he drove into the world of Broadway and continued to write music. From then on his course was set. For the time he was scandalous and not socially acceptable in some circles. The man led a fascinating life and was ridiculously prolific in his chosen profession. He wrote over 800 songs and many of them they were too scandalous the radio at the time. Cole Porter was laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru Indiana (check our Insta for pics of his grave). Tori covers another sanatorium but this was the most well known, Waverly Hills Sanatorium. One of the most haunted sites in the US, this TB hospital is iconic when it comes to any type of paranormal circle. Waverly Hills sits atop a hill overlooking Louisville and looms there to this day. This has been through many changes over the years. The amount of hauntings that have been documented at this location is astronomical. When you talk about Waverly Hills, you have to talk about the death tunnel. The current owners are refurbishing the place and they run tours so you can experience this for yourself.
