Some consider "cougar" a derogatory term. It's ageist. It's sexist and there's just something slightly tacky about it that many women don't want that label attached to them. Typically, a cougar is defined as an older woman who is primarily attracted to, and may have a sexual relationship with, significantly younger men. In general, the woman is 35 years or older, the man is more than eight years her junior. Cougars were most often described as "desperate", "aggressive" and/or "predators". Some women are interested in the excitement, energy and enthusiasm of a younger guy who is playful and adventurous and can go all night long.
