He is a new podcaster with former NFL Super Bowl winning coach, Mike Martz. Ron was a college football player at UCLA in the mid 80's under famous coach Terry Donahue. Ron was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 7th round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He played a few seasons there and eventually went to Green Bay, ironically following his father, Elijah Pitts, footsteps who also played in Lambeau Field. Ron lets us know what it's like to return multiple punts back for touchdowns and how difficult it is to get one in a game. Ron was also a TV broadcaster for many years post career and we discuss what it was like to prepare each week on the media side for a college or pro football game. We talk about the PAC 12 conference and what they need to do to contend with the big boys nowadays. My guest this week is, Jeremy Barfield, former long time minor leaguer and now a big time gamer on Twitch. Jeremy is originally from Houston and was a high school and also later, a junior college draft pick to the Oakland A's. Jeremy and I met each other along the way during our minor league careers and he was always one of my favorite players to play against. He's got some great stories from his career including a time where he hit a homerun and it hit a guy in the collarbone when he was petting a goat in center field.... yes, you can't make this up haha! You might know his last name, Barfield, as his dad Jesse Barfield played and coaches in the big leagues for a long time. His brother Josh Barfield also played in the big leagues for some time as well. This is a really fun episode!
