He is a teacher and baseball writer for many different publications including: Baseball Prospectus, and Bronx Pinstripes. He recently took over with another writer, as the Co-Directors of IBWAA, which is the Internet Baseball Writers Association of America. This membership group highlights any and all writers that want a fair platform to showcase their talent and ability. Daniel has some deep Baseball thoughts which made me think today... Conversation: - Travis Reed - Former UCLA College BBALL Player, Overseas Pro, Podcaster My guest today on the Too Tall Sports Podcast is Travis Reed. A former UCLA Basketball player and high school standout in the L.A. area during the late 90's. He details about playing with guys like Baron Davis, Matt Barnes, Earl Watson and of course the high school phenom that never was, Shea Cotton. Travis tells us about some of the memorable games during his time there and how many pro players were there together at one time on campus. And also a great story about Vince Carter when they played him and UNC in the 90's as well... He decided to transfer to Long Beach State in the early 2000's to get more playing time and he flourished there. He then spent 10+ years overseas as a pro and really found his game and opportunity to showcase his skills. Travis has some great stories about the smokers in Europe and the shady dealings of the owners in random countries he visited... He's also a podcaster and has shared his journey as well over the last year.
