Jaanika Merilo discusses Ukraine's Army Of Drones, including her own efforts with HeroIamSlava and President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's UNITED24 project. Jaanika Merilo is an Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Prior to the war, the ministry's chief project was the "state in a smartphone" project to automate delivery of public services through an online portal. Today, Jaanika is working to collect drones for the war effort, which are used for surveillance & early warning. "Ukraine needs many eyes in the sky, "Jaanika says, "and every drone you donate can really save lives, allowing the defenders of Ukraine to see and receive information." Jaanika has over 25 years of combined experience in technology, investing, and communications. Her background includes a diversity of experience ranging from programming, to technology management, VC investment management, private equity and angel investment. Since 1997 she’s been an analyst of the developing markets of Ukraine and Russia and an international lecturer and keynote at economic and security forums. In addition to technology and investment, she has a background in the areas non-linear and cyber-warfare, which we’ll be discussing today along with our focus on Ukraine’s Army of Drones.
