Tiger Talk Podcast by Northeast Mississippi Community College

In this sixty-fifth (65th) edition of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes NEMCC's director of bands and percussion instructor Bryan Mitchell to the podcast for his sixth appearance on the show as Mitchell talks about the Showband from Tigerland and what the 300-person band does during the spring semester following marching season in the fall. Mitchell gives a preview of the upcoming Indoor Winter Guard Competition to be held in the Bonner Arnold Coliseum on Friday, March 22 and talks about the inaugural Dance Clinic in the Bonner Arnold Coliseum on Saturday, March 23. Mitchell also talks about the upcoming Spring Band Showcase which features many of the Showband from Tigerland students in the symphonic, concert and jazz bands along with a performance from the NEMCC pom squad and indoor winter guard. In the second half of the podcast, Northeast vice president for institutional advancement and the executive director of the Northeast Development Foundation and Alumni Association D. Patrick Eaton makes a stop on the podcast -- his first since September 11, 2018 -- as Eaton discusses breaking news from the Development Foundation as they have extended their scholarship deadline to the end of this week -- Friday, March 22 instead of March 15. In addition to breaking the news of the scholarship deadline extension, Eaton talks about all the different ways to give to the Development Foundation and how one can become a member of the NEMCC Alumni Association for as little as $25 a year. Eaton gives an update on the Field of Dreams campaign and lists off a pair of major donors to the project that will let the Field of Dreams become an even better venue than what was originally planned with massive video boards to enhance the experience of the games. With graduation fast approaching, Eaton also talks about all the ways that the Foundation can help students and even gives some tips on how students can benefit from the process by filling out three minor forms that help their chances with financial aid, MTAG and the tuition guarantee program. Kollmeyer comes between the two main interviews with one of the most comprehensive lists of events and happenings on the Northeast campus for the upcoming week, so if you have an event or happening on campus and want to be part of the Tiger Talk podcast, reach out to us.
