#13 - 'Seam Strength, Spin Questions' (or England- Windies Series Review)
07/30/20 • 42 min
Oh baby, cricket's returned and it's back with the intensity of dropped Stuart Broad. 3 weeks, 3 Tests. Boom, boom, boom. In the immortal words of the great Peter Kay we are the cricket marines, the Hobnobs being dunked into the Test match tea every week, desperately shouting 'Again' as we're biologically set for constant 5 day a week cricketing immersion. "I'm going nowhere son dip me again," as another 3 Tests against Pakistan appears close on the horizon.
England wrapped up their series victory over the West Indies the other day, and with Max Parry making a long awaited return to the official roster the boys congregate to assess England's performance and more importantly how we can get Stuart Broad more angry. Chris Silverwood's side appear to be making progress and Bertie issues his key takeaways from what has been a good showing all in all. But a 2-1 defeat is the best the West Indies can realistically hope for nowadays away from home as Max bemoans how the game is failing to serve cricket in the Caribbean. Elsewhere, Ollie bemoans Sibley's lack of 'busyness' and Max destroys hopes of obtaining an international cricketing friend of the show.
And cheers to the West Indies for travelling during a global pandemic for the financial wellbeing of the English game. A trip which they didn't have to make and will have mainly helped English cricket keep its head above water.

#12 - England vs West Indies Series Preview
3 Tests in 3 weeks. Brace yourselves. To set you off a Moores-Godden partnership with a sprinkling of Barbados preview England's much awaited Test series against West Indies. We first look to England in a run down which Ollie would complain post-recording became a case of Bertie asking him loads of questions, despite himself offering little in the way of questions in the other direction. Either way we get out all our expectations for the new series in the first meaningful cricket of the year on English soil before welcoming on Nikhil Uttamchandani from the Caribbean Cricket Podcast to give us the lowdown of the West Indies side, and what English fans should be on the look out for.
