How can you make sure that you have a healthy pregnancy when you’re over 30? Preconception health coach, holistic nutritionist, and fertility awareness practitioner Nora Debora talks about optimizing your hormones and fertility by harnessing the power of your menstrual cycle with nutrition, cycle charting, and self-care practices.
You can find all the info and links about this episode at https://holisticwellness.ca/episode175.
Topics Discussed in This Episode:
- Why it's important for women to take time upfront to prepare their body for pregnancy
- The 4r method for preparing your body for pregnancy
- Some important things that you should know about pregnancy testings
- Sperm testing
Key Takeaways:
- There’s a three to seven-month window for the primordial egg to mature before it releases at ovulation. So anything that you put into your body, everything you do, and the environment that you surround yourself with within that period prior to getting pregnant is going to impact the health and quality of that egg and the health of the baby.
- There’s a lead time of about 72 days for a sperm to develop to its most mature state before it can actually fertilize an egg.
Action Steps:
- If you want to get pregnant, take the time upfront to balance your hormones, get healthy, and improve the quality of your egg (and sperm).

How can you recalibrate your life for the journey that lies ahead? Get a taste of my business mentorship program as I dish out some mindset talk that you can relate to in many different areas in your life.
You can find all the info and links about this episode at https://holisticwellness.ca/episode174.

- Why it’s important to have realistic time frames
- The mindset of a CEO
- Emotional business vs factual business
- Why you need to love what you’re doing
- Why you need to think about your revenue goals
Key Takeaways:
- You have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes in somebody else’s life, so don’t compare yourself.
- Building your business is not a rush. It's important to have realistic timeframes, and that’s going to help take the pressure off.
- Many people don't realize the amount of resistance that can show up when they start to dive in and do the work.
- Your mindset dictates so much about your success and your growth.
- You’re human, and it’s okay to fail. It’s important that you recognize failure as part of the process. The sooner you do, the more you experience ease, joy, and flow in your journey.
- We don't do emotional business. We do factual business.
- You have to be okay with doing the boring and mundane stuff. They’re the stuff that matters and moves the needle forward.
Action Steps:
- Stop comparing yourself. Instead, focus and stay in your own lane.
- Commit to only one thing at a time and follow through with it. Don’t take several courses, programs, and trainings simultaneously.
- Reframe how you see failure and look at it from a standpoint of learning and education.
- Get used to doing the boring and the mundane.
- Think about your revenue goals.

“We don't do emotional business. We do factual business.”
“You really have to fall in love with your work. Don't just go out there and launch programs and put things together because you think that's what you need to do or it sounds good. No, do it because you are so in love with it.”

The Real Reason We're Sick, Tired and Overweight
Have you ever wondered about what could be the real reasons why we’re sick, tired, and overweight? It’s a fully-loaded episode with Dr. Stephen Cabral as he talks about the real reasons why we’re unhealthy and what we can do about it.
You can find all the info and links about this episode at https://holisticwellness.ca/episode176.
Topics Discussed in This Episode:
- The real reasons why we’re sick, tired, and overweight, and what we can do about it
- Environmental toxins and how we can remove and reduce them from our body and our environment
- The power of intermittent fasting
- What we need to be conscious of when doing intermittent fasting in regards to our hormonal health, thyroid, and adrenals
- Ayurveda and how it can help to accelerate our health results
Key Takeaways:
- The two most common things that make people sick, tired, and unhealthy are gut imbalances and stress.
- Women are more exposed to toxins than men. The average woman is exposed to 126 different toxins before leaving their home in the morning, and half of those are carcinogenic.
- If something's off on your blood work, it means there's something wrong with your body.
- If you get bloated after eating, it's not the food's fault if it's healthy food. It's a digestive issue of too much candida, too many bacteria that are fermenting the food.
- You’re not a static human being. The same meal eaten on a different day can have a different reaction in your body.
- Ayurveda is the oldest form of medicine in the world. It became the basis of all other forms of medicine. It literally translates to ‘the science of life’, so it looks at an individual and their constitution.
Action Steps:
- Do a 7, 14, or 21-day functional medicine detox. Then, maintain your results by trying to not be exposed to as many toxins and eating cruciferous vegetables.
- Get blood work done. And if there’s something off on your blood work, look at the root causes to see why it’s off.
- Do intermittent fasting.
- Consider doing a one-day reset diet where you're doing daily nutritional support shakes every four hours.
Stephen said:
“A functional medicine detox. Is a game-changer for most people... It’s simply the best thing that we’ve seen work in our practice.”
“I believe that the closest thing we have to the fountain of youth is fasting... The very best time to not eat is at night, and you'll get tremendous health benefits from that.”
