We're talking about creating space for "softness". There have been so many conversations around the new Megan Sussex show. I wanted to talk about how this show is helping me rediscover the "softness" within myself. I also want to share some other tips to help rediscover your softness in a world that seems like it's standing on craziness. Let's talk about it.

This week let's talk about what do we do when God gives us what we've praying for. We've all been working on our goals/intentions, but what are we doing to ensure we're ready for the blessings when they come. Let's talk about it.
Last week's episode: Boundaries are Key: https://www.buzzsprout.com/851650/10266094-boundaries-are-key.mp3?download=true
Things to remember when God gives you what you prayed for:
1) You have to acknowledge that this our time.
2) Instantly pray and speak over yourself to counteract your fears. Speak to your doubts and fears to prevent them from steering you away from this moment.
3) Make sure you say "thank you" for the blessing. There is comfort and peace in gratitude.
4) Keep moving. The blessings are going to keep coming when we keep moving.

The Well Done Life - Grace and Accountability

Grace and Accountability

The Well Done Life

01/16/22 • 36 min

Are you tired of 2022 already? If so, then this episode is for you. This week we're talking about why we need to give ourselves a break. There's a lot going on in the streets, and we need to make sure we're prioritizing our peace and energy. So, this week let's get real about what we need to do to make sure we make it. We're only 16 days in, so we need get real quick. Let's talk about it!!
Previous episodes:
Episode 92: "You've So Got This": https://www.buzzsprout.com/851650/9838890-you-have-so-got-this.mp3?download=true
Episode 91: "Necessary Goodbyes": https://www.buzzsprout.com/851650/9688781-necessary-goodbyes.mp3?download=true
Tips to help you give yourself grace and accountability:

  1. Check in with yourself about how you're feeling: Make sure you stay aware of your moods and energy.
  2. Take a moment to "sit your butt down": It's ok to say "no" to events and/or people. If you need a break, take that break. Give yourself what you need.
  3. Give yourself permission to say "no": Again, it's ok to not be everything to everyone. Figure out how to be what you need for yourself. Give yourself permission to do what you can. Our best will fluctuate based on how we're feeling.
  4. Give yourself permission to "pivot": Things aren't always go as planned. That's ok. It will get done. It just may not be in the timeframes we thought it would. That's ok. What's for you won't miss you.
  5. Create space and room for moments to engage with people or things that bring you joy.
  6. Celebrate ALL of the accomplishments: Everything you do is worth recognizing. Don't just talk about the things that didn't happen. Celebrate the things that did happen. Those wins will keep you going.
  7. Speak to yourself with love and encouragement: Speak to yourself with the same love that you give to other people. Grace and empathy are for you too!!

Conversations with Tee-Ta & Tiffany: https://blackgirlwhitegirlconversations.com
Definition of Xenophobia: Xenophobia is an extreme, intense fear and dislike of customs, cultures, and people considered strange, unusual, or unknown. The term itself comes from Greek, where “phobos” means fear and “xenos” can mean stranger, foreigner, or outsider. Yet in Greek, xenos carries some ambiguity. It can also mean guest or wanderer.
Things to remember when dealing with your trauma:

  1. Can you deal with this on your own? Or do you need to seek out help?
  2. You have to acknowledge it, give it the words that are necessary, and then realize that you can't change what happened.
  3. You have to decide to forgive yourself for not being able to change what happened. If you can't do this, you should consider going into counseling. It's ok to admit that you can't carry this alone. It's ok to seek out help!!
  4. How are you going to hold yourself accountable to make sure that you don't take the trauma back into yourself? Healing is a 365 day commitment!!
