Darren Hardy, an accomplished flautist and Northumbrian pipes player, has been a Yeoman Warder for the Tower of London since 2019. Prior to guarding the Tower, Darren was a musician with the 6RRF Band for almost a decade. During this period, Darren also spent time as an instrument repairer specializing in flute repairs, while also customizing instruments and teaching instrument maintenance to students.
Later on, Darren joined the Reserve Army as a member of the 6th Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. This is where he began learning the Northumbrian Pipes. In 1996, Darren joined the Honorable Artillery Company, and became the Assistant Band Sergeant Major of the Band of the Coldstream Guards. Darren performed in State Ceremonial events including Trooping the Colour and the Changing of the Guard, the 1998 Edinburgh Tattoo Finale, and the Sydney Tattoo in 2010. He also successfully penned the words to Tyne Cot Passchendaele. Darren proudly served with distinction for 23 years.
In 2019, Darren earned the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM), a British medal presented to sergeants and warrant officers of the British armed forces for distinguished meritorious achievement and service.

Danny Gottlieb is a well known American drummer. He is best known as a founding member of the Pat Metheny Group, and co-founder of the group Elements with Mark Egan. He is currently a professor at the University of North Florida, teaching the Evolution of Jazz, and is the author of “The Evolution of Jazz Drumming” (Hudson Music/Hal Leonard). He is featured on over 400 recordings including four Grammy Award Winners.
Beth Gottlieb, is an internationally recognized percussionist, soloist, teacher and clinician. She is currently the principal percussionist with the Walt Disney World Candlelight Orchestra at Epcot, and Percussion and Drum Circle Coordinator for Victor Wooten's “Wooten Woods”. Her music is featured in multiple major Disney animated films and an impressive collection of major recording artists. Beth is a former member of Future Corps, Future World Brass and World Dancers Band.
Danny and Beth, known as “The Gottlieb Duo,” perform in concerts and clinics around the world. The duo are active musicians in the Lt. Dan Band, named after the infamous character Lieutenant Dan in the motion picture Forrest Gump, portrayed by lead singer Gary Sinise. The band plays all around the world, for charities and non-profit organizations, and even visiting military bases in the United States and abroad. 85% of the concerts directly benefit the US Military.
