The UpFlip Podcast - 44. How to Start a $450K/Month Epoxy Flooring Business
play

10/31/22 • 43 min

How much money and experience do you need to start an epoxy floor coating business? Brandon Vaughn invested $45,000 to start Wise Coatings in 2021. Now, he has 8 locations bringing in a total revenue of $450,000 or more every month with 15-25% profit margins, and he’s talking to UpFlip to share how he did it.

Brandon started Wise Coatings as an experiment. He wanted to see if someone could start a business without spending a single day working in the field. Instead, he focused on setting up smart systems, hiring a great team, and marketing the business to bring in more customers. So far, his experiment has proven a success, and he’s built a scalable garage floor coating company with huge revenue potential as a result.

Of course, no business is perfect all the time. We’ll hear what Brandon has struggled with as he’s grown his business, what mistakes he made early on, and how he corrected those issues to get Wise Coatings back on a profitable track. He’ll share his successes, too, and how he has used his expertise with business systems to set up his garage floor epoxy business for fast growth from day one.

John D’Eri and his son Thomas started Rising Tide Car Wash to provide employment opportunities for autistic adults. Ten years later, they’ve grown to 2 locations that bring in more than $500,000 a month in revenue, both a thriving car wash business and proof positive that neurodivergent employees have a lot to offer in the workplace.
