Dr. Gregory Stinyard brings over 20 years of experience as a diversity, equity, and inclusion leader, coach, and partner to Fortune 500 insurance, retail, fulfillment, distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, and military leaders. He also served in the U.S. Army and retired after holding several senior leadership roles, including Equal Opportunity Advisor and Human Relations Advisor. With experience advancing DEI across all organizational levels, Gregory has a wide variety of subject matter expertise in compliance, supplier diversity, recruiting, retention, EEO, HR, and community partnerships
Gregory currently serves as the Director of Inclusive Excellence Operations and Programs for American Family Insurance. In this role, Gregory has oversight and responsibility for building and delivering comprehensive DEI programs to help people learn better ways to lead inclusively, work together, and create more inclusive policies and practices to drive greater business results. He also partners with stakeholders across the enterprise to introduce DEI programs and educational opportunities to enhance cultural competencies and inclusive behaviors to inform and grow the business. Gregory drives an integrated DEI strategy by helping leaders achieve their goals, providing them with subject matter expertise, thought leadership, and consulting.
Gregory earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Master’s degree in Human Resources, and Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University. He holds three certifications from the Diversity Executive LeadershipAcademy (CDP, CDT, CDE) and two professional coaching certifications from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (CPC, ELI-MP). He has the Continuous Improvement Manager (CCIM) and SAFe 4 Scrum Master (Scaled Agile) designations. Gregory recently completed his certification in Strategy Execution from Harvard Business School.
Gregory currently serves as an active board member for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Denton County, Texas, and the Denton Texas Chamber DEI Counsel. He is a mentor for Veterati-Veteran Mentorship and a big brother for Big Brothers, Big Sisters Lone Star High School Mentorship program. Gregory also volunteers his DEI expertise with Serve Denton and its partners to assist in building their DEI strategy, roadmap implementation process, and policies.
