The last week has been a tough one for many Australians. The East Coast from Sydney through to the Sunshine Coast, has been hammered by flooding rains and many have felt the impacts of major flooding, sadly lives have been lost, many homes have been inundated and destroyed. It's been a harrowing time for many.
While confronting and dealing with these disasters, two Aussie legends have passed away. Rod Marsh, the wicketkeeper from the golden years of the 70s and early 80s, when Australia and the West Indies held the forefront of world cricket. And if that wasn't bad enough, just 24 hours later, we lost Shane Warne.
Warney, as many is Australia call him, was someone we all identified with. He made something that was daggy in leg-spin, cool. He was an authentic character who had confidence in his abilities, he made some blues, got into trouble, and in many ways was the person who many wanted to be. He lived life on his terms, and his abilities. He connected with people, all around the world, even those who had no idea of his cricket skills. He took over 708 test wickets and has really shocked the nation. He was just 52.
