The TITT Talks Podcast - Modern Women Living in a Mama World

Welcome to the second half of 2020! May it be better than the first.

Please grab a strong cocktail or two and join us for our third episode as we settle in and exchange stories about a lighthearted topic that is near and dear to our hearts - LBKs a.k.a Lady Boner Killers! We have all experienced them: that feeling when a romantic interest says or does something that throws a bucket of ice-cold water on a fiery attraction. LBKs can take any form: they can be statements, they can be personality traits, and they can be a terrible pair of shoes. In this episode, we welcome our first guest, our beloved friend Brianna Menke. We trade tales from our pasts (some comical, some relatably disappointing) that have enabled us to collectively identify our most dreaded LBKs. We’d love to hear some of yours! ABOUT TITT TALKS

TITT Talks was “conceived” in January of 2020 during one of TITT’s many friend/family (“framily”) get-togethers. In conversation, it came to light that there was a lack of representation of women like TITT in, among other forms of media, the podcast world. In particular, there was no podcast that TITT could subscribe to that would enable them to feel seen, heard, or understood as modern Asian Pacific American working mothers.

We knew that this void was one they could fill by sharing their voices and experiences through their casual conversations, which were already taking place on a routine basis.

Thank you for the positive feedback we have received since our launch in early June 2020. We are delighted to hear that we are bringing you content that you can finally relate to as mothers, professionals, millennials, and Asian Pacific Americans.

MONTHLY SPOTLIGHT

As part of TITT Talks' women supporting women initiative, each month TITT Talks will spotlight a member of the community. In this video, you will be introduced to Proud Usacharoenporn. She is a lawyer and business litigation partner. In her spare time, she uses her graphic design skills to raise funds for two wonderful, non-profit organizations: The Little Red Dog and The Center for Disaster Philanthropy, Inc. The Little Red Dog rescues dogs from high-kill shelters across Southern California, rehabs them through behavior training, and finds them forever homes. Proud has fostered several dogs for this rescue and has adopted one! In exchange for a donation to @thelittlereddog, Proud will create for you a personalized portrait of your pet to cherish furever and ever.

Proud has also written and illustrated a children’s book called “Panda-Emic” to benefit The Center for Disaster Philanthropy, Inc.’s fund for COVID relief. The story is intended to give parents a way to explain the pandemic to their young children, to spread solidarity, and to inspire positivity. It details the story of five friends who are forced to stay apart because of the “Panda-Emic,” a pandemic started by the pandas that rocks the animal world. The Center for Disaster Philanthropy supports other worthy non-profits that help healthcare workers and especially vulnerable population, such as Americares, CARE, and Feeding America. If you make a donation to The Center, Proud will send you a copy of her book, “Panda-Emic” for you and your family to enjoy. You can donate/purchase here.

Working Moms

On our fourth episode of TITT Talks, you will get to know the professional side of TITT a little better as we discuss our individual professional journeys that brought us to where we are today. We also discuss the challenges of being working moms and the experiences we have had re-entering the workforce after our maternity leaves. It has been a challenge to manage all the demands of parenthood with the ever-changing expectations this pandemic has brought us. It goes without saying that being a mom is the most important job we hold so we salute all the mothers out there.

“The most important work you will ever do will be within the walls of your own home.” – Harold B. Lee
