In our inaugural episode, we learn what forensic genealogy is and how it is used by law enforcement. Then I tell the story of Helene Pruszynski, and young and talented intern from Massachusetts who was abducted and killed outside of Denver Colorado in early 1980. The journey to finding her killer took 40 years, but finally in 2020, with the help of various DNA labs and genetic genealogy research, he would be caught and confess to her brutal murder. This case includes a review of genetic family mapping.
