The Thoughtful Entrepreneur

In this episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, your host Josh Elledge speaks with Richard Mabey, Co-Founder and CEO of Juro.

Are you tired of creating, negotiating, approving, assigning, managing, and tracking legal contracts? Look no further than Juro, an all-in-one contract automation platform simplifies the entire contract lifecycle.

Richard explained how Juro differs from other solutions like DocuSign by streamlining the entire process, not just the signing. Juro allows lawyers to set up templates that anyone in the business can use, reducing friction in the sales process and providing live comment notifications.

Richard’s experience as an attorney inspired him to start Juro, and the company has grown from 50 to 115 employees with a community of 800 corporate attorneys who believe in their product. Their sales team is very consultative, understanding their prospects' pain points before demonstrating how Juro can solve their problems.

About Richard Mabey:

Richard Mabey is the Founder and scale-up CEO with a background focused on building B2B SaaS products that people love. Right now, he's building Juro to help the world get along better by making legal contracts frictionless and accessible to everyone.

Formerly a Magic Circle lawyer and an MBA from INSEAD. Member of the Forbes Council, Fellow of the RSA, FT top 10 legal technologist. Occasionally, he makes angel investments to support other founders working on ambitious and impactful projects.

Their team strives to help the world get along better, making contracts frictionless and accessible to everyone. The Juro team spans multiple countries, cultures and functions and is backed by Union Square Ventures, Point Nine Capital, Seedcamp and the founders of Wise, Indeed and Gumtree.

1397 – Structuring Your Business Rhythm with ESUS and Biz Smart’s Kevin Brent

In this episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, your host Josh Elledge speaks with the Founder and Managing Director of BizSmart, and Author of The Entrepreneurial ScaleUp System, Kevin Brent.

Kevin shares his passion for helping and supporting struggling entrepreneurs so they can put a robust structure and systems in place to keep their business running smoothly. Based on their own research and experiences, Kevin and his team at Bizmates will explore the challenges every entrepreneur faces, help create an action plan, and guide them through their journey to growth.

Kevin also explains their team's ScaleUp Journey framework which they have successfully used over the years to help achieve their clients' goals. This includes habit tracking and a step-by-step guide to successfully reaching the different milestones. He believes that when the right structure is put in place correctly, it can revolutionize the way businesses operate.

Key Points from the Episode:

  • Services offered by BizSmart
  • The 90-Day Planning Process
  • The Entrepreneurial Scale Up System

About Kevin Brent: Kevin is an experienced and entrepreneurial business practitioner with a focus on strategy, business development and maximizing value. He has combined pharmaceutical sales and marketing experience with strategy consulting, value based management, medical communications and e-business. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, has built three and exited from two businesses and built his own eco-friendly home! Kevin founded BizSmart in 2012 with the aim of supporting business owners to build value growth in their businesses.

After a short stint in the RAF, Kevin started in business in the late eighties as a medical representative and subsequent roles included sales, market research, new products planning, product and business unit management.

Following an International MBA at INSEAD in France, he joined a leading global strategy firm. With a focus on Corporate Value Based Management, he worked in banking, consumer healthcare, and even alcoholic beverages!

A move to healthcare strategy consulting firm The Wilkerson Group gave Kevin an interest in patient centric support programmes. Working internationally, he advised at senior level on value added patient services and strategic marketing, including patient journey analysis. Further projects included international opportunity assessments for new products, portfolio evaluations, company valuations and pipeline assessments for merger negotiations.

As board director for a medical education agency Kevin conceived and drove the development of Healthinfocus.co.uk – the first comprehensive consumer health site in the UK working closely with 55 UK patient support groups. As International Business Development Director, he also originated, sold, and led a pan European review of patient support programmes for one of the industry’s billion dollar products. This led to a cohesive approach for the client in the development of support programmes in general, and specifically in compliance/ adherence services.

Very much an entrepreneurial self-starter he has conceived and built three businesses, built his own kit car (when he was much younger!) and built his own eco-friendly home. Later, he developed the Patient Experience Network (PEN) alongside another BizSmart Core Advisor Ruth and launched the PEN National Awards in 2010 – attracting interest, entries and sponsorship from a wide range of healthcare organizations including the NHS, private health and the pharmaceutical industry.

About BizSmart: BizSmart is a group of experienced professionals working with business owners spread their wings through a rock-solid, proven system for scaling up and building value. They offer a range of products and services to meet every SME’s business aspirations and budgets – flexible, accessible programmes focused on business scale-up & value creation with support from like-minded business owners.

Tweetable Moments:

05:33 - "There are a lot of people that start up businesses. You have to have that high dominance trait to get things done."

08:43 - "Every business should have a 90-day planning process because you can balance that time out of the business and think a bit strategically with keeping the lights on and the plates spinning within the business."

1399 – Empowering Digital Transformation with Encapture’s Will Robinson

In this episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, your host Josh Elledge speaks with Will Robinson, CEO of Encapture.

Will shares some of the pain points faced by bank employees and lenders. He describes their job of manually processing documents for clients as very laborious, often chaotic, and an unproductive use of their time. One of the solutions to improve efficiency and customer service? Integrate an intelligent document automation platform that can perform repetitive tasks smoothly and quickly.

Will explains how Encapture works as an end-to-end platform for your document processing needs. It highlights some of the software's key features that can speed up processing times for some of the most important documents processed by bank employees and lenders. The software can support many different documents needed while improving digital experience, operational efficiency and compliance management.

Key Points from the Episode:

  • Why do banks and lenders need intelligent document management software?
  • How banks and lenders would work with Encapture
  • Sales and business development

About Will Robinson: Will Robinson is the CEO of Encapture, a 20-year-old growing document management services company that transitioned to a SaaS product company in 2019 with additional investment funding. Will Robinson is a Dallas native who spent time in banking and private equity as a finance professional before moving into the software industry and then joining Encapture as CEO.

About Encapture: Encapture is intelligent document management software that helps financial institutions and healthcare providers speed up document processing. Encapture enables frontline workers to easily capture any type of document, then automatically extracts all relevant data using machine learning to process workflows and integrate the data with other software tools. It uses machine learning to help employees stop wasting time on mundane, repetitive tasks so they can focus on better serving their customers.

Banks, lenders, insurers, and businesses with high volumes of paperwork trust Encapture to keep their operations efficient, secure, and buzzing. They are told by their customers that they are a refreshing alternative to traditional enterprise capture software because their platform is easy to use and scalable.

Tweetable Moments:

00:35 - "We are in this space called 'Intelligent Document Processing.' So if you think about a bank and people applying for a mortgage or a loan, there are a lot of incoming documents from that borrower that the bank has to review to make sure that you're qualified to get a loan from the bank."

01:30 - "It's a multifaceted problem. Think about a borrower or a consumer. People these days expect an immediate turnaround."
