Wade Hilligoss | Episode #11

Wade is the Senior Support Manager at Hudl. This is a leading performance analysis company that allows players, coaches, and teams to review film and prepare for their next big game. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a master's and undergrad in broadcasting/journalism/media.

Internships: Being involved and taking every opportunity available is exactly what Wade did in college. These real-world experiences prepared him for his future careers. While in these internships, push yourself and try to learn as much as you can. Understanding the purpose of each opportunity is key (money or growth).

Writing: This skill shows up everywhere in your life, whether you realize it or not. No matter what job you choose to do, writing will elevate your value. Hone in on your storytelling, concise writing, and communication abilities.

Interviewing: Focus on the three areas laid out in the book, "The Ideal Team Player." These are being Humble, Hungry, and Smart (about people). Flip the roles around in the interview to truly understand what someone wants. Beforehand, write out your answers to any and all possible questions. Finally, always have an example to back up what you say.
