The Slumpbuster Ep 120: Shanahan & Sark on Hot Seats? Ben Simmons to Boston? & Purdue Strike Again!
Welcome in Slumpbusters! In this episode of the Slumpbuster Podcast, Kyle & Ju-Ju tackle the latest breaking news in the world of the NFL, NBA and College Football.
For the second time in four weeks, the Purdue Boilermakers have upset a team in the College Football Top-5. On October 16, Purdue walked away with a 24-7 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. This past Saturday they opposed a 8-0 Michigan State Spartans team led by Mel Tucker. Purdue quarterback Aidan O'Connell threw for an amazing 536 yards with three touchdowns to beat Sparty 40-29. This is the first time in College Football history an unranked team has beat two teams in the Top-5 by double digits. Will Ohio State be on upset alert going against the hot Boilermakers? (1:23) #Purdue
Our next segment Ju-Ju laments over the failures of the San Francisco 49ers. Kyle Shanahan is the owner of a 31-39 win-loss record in his time as an NFL head coach. His record has entirely been accrued in his time in San Francisco. Is Shanahan on the coaching hot seat following a 31-17 beat down by the Arizona Cardinals. In that game the Cardinals were missing Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, J.J. Watt and others. Does this speak to a bigger problem with Shanahan, John Lynch and within the 49ers ownership? Ju-Ju explains and talks the future should San Francisco continue to struggle. (5:00) #49ers
The NBA is about a month in and Kyle's second Power Rankings update is on the way. Who will be the biggest riser? Who will be the biggest faller? And we have some developing news with Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers. Could the Boston Celtics be the team most in play to make a trade for Simmons? Can Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown continue as a dynamic 1-2 punch? (27:45) #BenSimmons
The Texas Longhorns have lost their last four games in Steve Sarkisian's first year in Austin. Will Sark still remain the Longhorns head coach in the 2022 season? We also discuss the legend of 'Pole Assassin.' (39:45) #HookEm
We finish with our NFL week 10 preview and predictions:
Atlanta Falcons (+9) @ Dallas Cowboys (45:20)
New Orleans Saints (+3) @ Tennessee Titans (53:00)
Cleveland Browns (+2.5) @ New England Patriots (59:50)
Minnesota Vikings (+3) @ Los Angeles Chargers (1:06:00)
Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) @ Las Vegas Raiders (1:12:30)

The Slumpbuster Ep 121: The Curious Case of Steve Sarkisian, Lakers Go Crypto, NBA Power Ranks & NFL
Welcome in Slumpbusters! It is time to bust the midday slump and tune into another episode of the Slumpbuster Podcast. On this weeks episode, Kyle & Ju-Ju discuss the biggest headlines in the NFL, MLB, NBA and College Football.
We begin our show discuss the Lakers changing the name of their historic arena for the first time since 1999. Los Angeles came to terms with crypto.com on a $700M naming rights deal, replacing the existing Staples Center.
Kyle released his most recent NBA Power Rankings earlier this week. We discuss some of the pushback given by Bulls fans regarding their ranking amongst the NBA elite. Are the Bulls underrated? Are we overrating the Los Angeles Lakers who continue to struggle with Lebron James off the court?
Texas football for the first time in program history lost a home game to the Kansas Jayhawks. This was also the first time that 30+ point underdog had won any road game in the Big-12 history. This embarrassing loss marks the Longhorns fifth straight in Steve Sarkisian's first season in Austin. Should the Texas Athletic Department considering a short tenue for Sark as they look to get back to national prominence? Is it time for Texas to adjust their expectations of the underperforming Longhorns?
We give our NFL Week 11 Preview & Predictions:
Indianapolis Colts (+7.0) @ Buffalo Bills
Cincinnati Bengals (+1.0) @ Las Vegas Raiders
Dallas Cowboys (+2.5) @ Kansas City Chiefs
Arizona Cardinals (-2.5) @ Seattle Seahawks
Pittsburgh Steelers (+5.5) @ Los Angeles Chargers
