The Rural Woman Podcast

On this week's episode of The Rural Woman PodcastTM, you'll meet Ashley Sutton.

Ashley was born and raised on Long Island, NY, about an hour from New York City. It wasn’t until she moved to Colorado for graduate school that she started thinking about where our food comes from. Ashley met her husband in graduate school out west, and he introduced her to the world of agriculture! It wasn’t long before they decided they wanted to keep some animals of their own one day. In March 2020, Ashley and her husband started their homestead in Vermont.

Turning a Passion for Horses into a Career with Sierra Seidner

On this week's episode of The Rural Woman PodcastTM, you'll meet Sierra Seidner.

At 26 years young, Sierra is the owner of Iron Horse Animal Health Products, a company that manufactures high-quality but affordable supplements and feed for horses and livestock like chickens, sheep, and cows. She graduated from Westminster College with a degree in Financial Economics in December of 2018, but after taking her first accounting job, knew that wasn’t the right career path for her. In July 2021, she had the opportunity to purchase Iron Horse, an established company that had been in business since 1967, from founder Dr. David Swaney and left her office job to pursue the more fitting and exciting lifestyle of being an entrepreneur. Along with running Iron Horse and going on the many trips that it requires, Sierra also enjoys training and racing standardbred harness racing horses.
